Job DetailsJob Location: Hanover, PA 17331Job Shift: DayThe Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator serves as both a shift supervisor and quality inspector, ensuring that production lines operate efficiently, sanitation standards are upheld, and all products meet established quality and safety requirements. This role plays a key part in verifying thermal process parameters, supporting regulatory compliance, and maintaining the integrity of all quality assurance programs. · Oversees and coordinates daily departmental quality assurance activities. · Reviews and evaluates the quality of all products produced during the shift. · Ensures any questionable product is placed on QA hold, properly red‑tagged, segregated, and accurately documented for management review. · Verifies all process parameters on the production floor and at all cooker systems. · Conducts verification of thermal processes during deviations, determines alternate processes when necessary, and ensures proper segregation and documentation to maintain product safety and regulatory compliance. · Monitors line operations, documents all non‑conformances, and ensures production is halted when required until issues are fully resolved. · Trains new employees on QA procedures, standards, and expectations. · Evaluates incoming fresh‑pack product and recommends appropriate disposition prior to processing. · Reviews production and quality records as applicable. · Performs special projects, trials, and experiments as assigned. · Observes and reports the effectiveness of sanitation and cleanup in processing and warehouse areas, promptly escalating any serious deficiencies. · Maintains cleanliness, organization, and proper functioning of all QA lab facilities, equipment, and incubators. · Routinely reviews finished product analysis results to assess quality and material usage efficiency (yields). · Understands where quality standards and product specifications are located and applies them appropriately; recommends revisions when needed. · Continuously monitors for quality issues related to product or packaging, documenting and reporting concerns to Production and QA management. · Ensures required samples are collected for Cutting Bees, customer programs, and co‑pack requirements. · Develops familiarity with customer and USDA grading standards. · Maintains working knowledge of all QA department roles. · Identifies quality issues and takes or recommends effective corrective actions. · Supports the Quality Assurance Supervisor and Manager as required. · Executes all food safety, legality, and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the role, including but not limited to GMPs, HACCP, food safety, product quality, and food security. · Performs additional related duties as assigned by QA leadership. Qualifications· High school diploma required. Associate’s degree in Food Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, preferred. · Minimum 2 years of experience as a QA Inspector A. · Successful completion of Better Process Control School. · Strong math skills. · Proficient computer skills – preferably in Microsoft Office programs. · Demonstrated sound decision‑making skills and the ability to resolve problems quickly and effectively. · Strong verbal and written communication skills.
