The Engineering Manager is responsible for, at the direction of the Director of Engineering, maintaining product quality and condition throughout the Resort. Also, administrating preventative maintenance programs for all equipment and guest rooms to prolong the lifespan of equipment and physical property. Managing the department’s day-to-day responsibilities, the Engineering Manager leads a team of technicians ensuring high-quality, productive work while establishing an environment leading to high levels of guest and employee satisfaction. Additionally, the Engineering Manager works alongside the Director of Engineering overseeing capital and departmental budgets.

Summary of Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct Engineering staff.
  • Maintains equipment using proper tools in a skilled craftsman-like manner.
  • Coordinate maintenance tasks with the Director of Engineering.
  • Coordinate budgetary expenses with the Director of Engineering.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and retention of engineering staff in coordination with the Director of Engineering.
  • Responsible for weekly scheduling of engineering staff in coordination with the Director of Engineering.
  • Maintaining supply level inventory.
  • Managing and performing regular preventive maintenance for equipment, guest rooms, and common areas.
  • Working with outside vendors and contractors to provide necessary improvements or maintenance as directed.
  • Maintain records of work activities and support materials.
  • Working with other departments when necessary or as directed.
  • Provide written reports to other departments as needed.
  • Assign and perform daily rounds, Checking building mechanical equipment, common space, life safety systems, pool equipment, etc.
  • Assign and attend to any work orders, guest requests, housekeeping requests, front desk requests and guestroom calls.
  • Managing CMMS System to stay up to date on room and equipment PM’s along with the Director of Engineering.
  • Maintain all facilities and systems in safe and efficient working order.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a safe, timely manner.
  • Perform electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, food service equipment, and HVAC repairs and preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years in the hospitality industry.
  • At least one year of prior experience supervising a maintenance team.
  • Must have schedule flexibility including potential evening shift, weekends and Holidays.
  • This position will be required to be on call to support critical operations.
  • Must successfully pass background and drug tests.
  • Minimum of 2 years Computerized Maintenance Management System experience (HOTSOS, Quore, etc.)
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Must have a valid Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or willing to obtain one within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Electrical, EPA, and HVAC certification preferred.
  • Driver's license and acceptable driving record required

  • Must be able to lift arms above head and shoulders.
  • Lift and/or move: Up to 80 lbs.
  • Climb: Ascend and descend indoor and outdoor stairs, ladders uneven and sloped surfaces.
  • Speak and hear clearly.
  • This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Able to obtain a Missouri State driver’s Class E license.
  • Use fingers and hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties.
