Job Title: Data Center Virtualization Engineer Location: 100% Remote (United States) Position Type: Full-time, Direct W2 Salary Range: $100,000–$150,000 Annually Experience: 6+ years

Job Summary We are looking for a VMware Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and operate VMware-based virtualization, software-defined networking, and software-defined storage platforms across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. The role covers vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu, with a focus on automation, capacity management, and the practical realities of operating a large VMware estate alongside modern cloud-native workloads. The ideal candidate has operated VMware platforms at enterprise scale, navigates the evolving VMware product landscape pragmatically, and brings strong automation and operations discipline.   Required Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Five or more years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
  • Hands-on experience with vSAN and storage policy management.
  • Experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking.
  • Strong PowerCLI scripting skills and experience with automation tooling.
  • Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms.
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery patterns and SRM.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, network, and storage layers.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP credentials.

  • Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE.
  • Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
  • Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations.
  • Exposure to migration programs out of VMware to alternative virtualization platforms.
