Bases in Hong Kong, the Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives to maximize sales growth, market share, and brand presence for Santen’s assigned product portfolio in Hong Kong and Macau. The role leads product lifecycle management, including new product launches, portfolio expansion, multi-channel marketing, and trade channel development, while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver business objectives. The Product Manager also drives financial performance through effective forecasting, budget management, and market analysis, ensuring sustainable growth and strong customer engagement among healthcare professionals and key stakeholders.
Job Description
What you will do
- Develop and execute marketing strategies and annual brand plans to drive sales growth, market share, and brand equity for the assigned product portfolio across Hong Kong and Macau.
- Lead product lifecycle management, including product positioning, pricing, promotional activities, portfolio optimization, and successful new product launches.
- Identify and evaluate market opportunities, customer insights, and competitive dynamics to support business growth, portfolio expansion, and future pipeline planning.
- Plan and implement multi-channel marketing initiatives, including HCP engagement programs, medical conferences, promotional campaigns, trade marketing activities, and Macau market support.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Medical, Regulatory, Supply Chain, distributors, and regional stakeholders to ensure effective execution of marketing strategies and business objectives.
- Drive financial performance by managing sales forecasts, inventory planning, A&P budgets, and product profitability while ensuring responsible resource allocation.
- Develop sales support materials, promotional tools, and product training programs to enhance field force effectiveness and customer engagement.
- Explore and support cross-border business opportunities, including partnerships and initiatives between Hong Kong and Mainland China, while contributing to overall organizational success through cross-functional teamwork.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role
- Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Marketing, Business, or other related disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of healthcare/pharmaceutical marketing experience; candidates with 9+ years of combined healthcare sales and marketing experience will be highly preferred.
- Experience in ophthalmology and/or eye-care products is an advantage; a strong scientific or academic background is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in product launches, brand management, and product lifecycle management within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is a plus.
- Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder management skills with a demonstrated ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business plans.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin proficiency preferred); proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and able to work effectively under pressure, with flexibility to undertake occasional travel; appointment level will be determined based on experience (Product Manager or Senior Product Manager).
