Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a Snowflake & Python Data Engineer to build and support scalable data solutions across cloud and on-premises environments. The role will develop data pipelines, integrate multiple data sources, automate workflows, and support analytics and reporting.
The successful candidate will work with Snowflake, Python, SQL, relational databases, and AWS to deliver secure, reliable, and efficient data solutions in collaboration with distributed Agile teams.
Software Requirements
Required
- 5+ years of experience integrating data between cloud and on-premises databases.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake and Python 3.x.
- Strong SQL and relational database experience.
- Experience integrating multiple data sources using Python.
- Strong Python programming and shell scripting skills.
- Working knowledge of AWS services, particularly S3 and EC2.
- Experience with Git, testing, code reviews, and Agile delivery.
- Experience working with distributed teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and analytical skills.
Preferred
- Experience with Django, Flask, or Python ORM libraries.
- Experience with data orchestration, CI/CD, monitoring, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Knowledge of ledger, sub-ledger, transaction, or reconciliation processes.
- Snowflake or AWS certification.
Overall Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support Snowflake data pipelines.
- Build Python-based integrations and automation for cloud, on-premises, database, file, and API sources.
- Develop efficient SQL queries, transformations, data models, and reporting structures.
- Implement data validation, reconciliation, error handling, monitoring, and recovery processes.
- Troubleshoot data quality, performance, and production issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, analytics, architecture, security, and business teams.
- Participate in Agile planning, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Document technical designs, data mappings, operational procedures, and support processes.
- Follow security, governance, cost-management, and sustainable cloud-use practices.

Programming Languages
Essential: Python 3.x, SQL, and shell scripting. Preferred: Additional programming languages, asynchronous Python, and reusable Python library development.
Databases and Data Management
Essential: Snowflake, relational databases, data modeling, batch and incremental loading, data validation, reconciliation, and SQL optimization. Preferred: Snowflake streams, tasks, stages, dimensional modeling, data governance, and ledger data.
Cloud Technologies
Essential: AWS, including S3 and EC2; cloud-to-on-premises data integration. Preferred: Additional AWS data, security, monitoring, migration, and cost-optimization services.
Frameworks and Libraries
Essential: Python libraries for data processing, database connectivity, API integration, and testing. Preferred: Django, Flask, ORM libraries, and workflow automation frameworks.

Essential: Git, Agile development, code reviews, automated testing, documentation, and production support. Preferred: CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure-as-code, orchestration, and observability tools.
Security
Essential: Role-based access, least privilege, secure credential management, encryption, data masking, logging, and secure data handling. Preferred: Experience with audit, privacy, compliance, and access-review processes.
Experience Requirements
- 5+ years in data engineering, data integration, database development, or a related role.
- 3+ years using Snowflake and Python professionally.
- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Experience delivering and supporting production data pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile and distributed team environments.
- Financial services or other regulated-industry experience is preferred.
- Equivalent experience, technical training, certifications, or demonstrable project work may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Review requirements, source data, mappings, and acceptance criteria.
- Design and develop Python and Snowflake data solutions.
- Write and optimize SQL transformations.
- Monitor pipelines and resolve data-quality or operational issues.
- Create tests, perform code reviews, and support deployments.
- Attend Agile ceremonies and technical discussions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and priorities.
- Maintain technical documentation and support procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, automation, performance, cost, and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Snowflake, AWS, database, or data engineering certifications are preferred.
- Completion of applicable Synechron training in security, privacy, compliance, Agile delivery, and engineering standards.
- Commitment to ongoing learning in Snowflake, Python, SQL, AWS, security, and data engineering practices.
