About the Client
Our client is a well-established organization in the insurance industry, known for its collaborative, Swedish-style work culture. You will be joining a long-term initiative (planned for 2-3 years) to drive their technological direction.
The Role
We are looking for a Java Architect / Tech Lead who will also wear the hat of a Tech Lead within a Scrum team. This is a hands-on role where you will actively code in Java while making high-level architectural decisions, mentoring developers, and working closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

What You Will Do
- Act as the Tech Lead in a Scrum team, driving technological direction and architectural decisions.
- Actively code and implement business requirements using Java.
- Design, develop, and scale microservices and distributed systems.
- Collaborate directly with the Product Owner and business units to refine requirements.
- Establish and enforce technical standards across coding, architecture, and system integration.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor the development team, and unblock technical issues.
- Ensure end-to-end observability, security, and high performance of the solutions.
- Actively utilize cloud solutions (Azure) and Agentic AI tools to automate processes and boost development productivity.
What We Expect (Must-Have)
- 5+ years of experience in designing and building web systems.
- Strong, hands-on programming skills in Java in a production environment.
- Proven track record of building microservices and distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of architectural/integration patterns, API design, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
- Practical knowledge of relational databases (SQL), Event-Driven Architecture, and application security.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Previous experience in mentoring, code review, and leading a technical team.
- Fluent Polish and advanced English (minimum B2).
Nice to Have
- Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, with a strong preference for Azure.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Agentic AI / AI in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for automation and architectural decision support.
