Joint Mobile Engineering Team (JMET) is an unusual security engineering group within Apple’s IS&T Group. We provide critical services for the company across every product line. From manufacturing to customer facing, our services span across the entire lifecycle of most Apple hardware. We are responsible to design, implement and support the ongoing need to improve customer safety and privacy by providing security services that are tightly coupled with hardware. It includes developing server-side solutions needed to activate Apple devices worldwide or contributing to Apple’s pioneering efforts in eSIM. We work closely with several cross functional teams within Apple as well as carriers and other third parties.

Many of our services are seen in iOS Security Guide or publicly discussed on internet forums. As an engineer, you will participate in initiatives that are important to the success of upcoming product launches and product security initiatives. You will also work with large cross functional teams to align the expectations and validate work you're doing.

Description

We are looking for a motivated and entry level engineer to work on server-side software development. This software enables Apple to further improve features of current and future products. It requires an understanding of various security concepts and design patterns to produce high-quality, highly scalable multi-tenant applications that can adapt to changing business needs. You will work with partners, project managers, and cross-disciplinary teams to understand and capture requirements. Lastly, you should be passionate about writing good quality code and appropriate to go through the scrutiny of detailed audits.

Minimum Qualifications

BS/MS in Computer Science or related field Proficient in object-oriented design and programming using Java and J2EE. Solid understanding of Spring, Microservices architecture, and React.js. Knowledgeable in cryptographic techniques, including symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hashing, digital signatures, and key management. Familiar with contemporary cryptographic standards and practices. Experienced with relational and NoSQL databases, including database design.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong foundation in developing and integrating machine learning and generative AI models. Skilled in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and Bash. Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate within a distributed team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic knowledge of C is advantageous Knowledge in Kafka or Rabbit is a plus
