The Role

The Data Protection Analyst (DPA) will be responsible for monitoring Data Loss Prevention events for Proofpoint's Managed Services clients and escalating all necessary events to the clients via approved escalation paths. DPAs will also perform health checks and pull monthly metrics from the DLP consoles supporting Program Analysts (PAs) and Program Strategy Managers (PSMs).  The DPA ensures all tasks performed adhere to the firm’s ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS).

Your day-to-day includes:

  • Monitoring of all Data Loss Prevention events for Proofpoint’s Managed Services clients, escalating all necessary events to the clients via approved escalation paths, and performing health checks.
  • Follow all associated Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures to perform health checks.
  • Provide policy recommendations based on trends observed during daily monitoring. Responsible for pulling metrics from the Data Loss Prevention consoles to assist the team in customer presentations.
  • Enhance customer policies in DLP environments and ensure use cases adhere to customer requirements.

What you bring to the team:

  • Experience in information security, digital forensics, intelligence, risk management, or similar field
  • Ability to analyze data sets and uncover unique attributes and trends
  • Demonstrate organizational and scheduling skills
  • Rigorous attention to detail
  • Passion to find innovative and creative solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and with clients
  • Self-motivated, with ability to manage and follow up on multiple tasks simultaneously consultative skills and strong judgment
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas and solutions to a variety of audiences Strong time management skills  

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Criminal Justice (or other applicable degree, and/or commensurate, applicable experience)
  • Experience working with DLP, CASB, SIEM, email and/or web gateway
  • Analyze data and deriving business intelligence
  • Perform computer or cyber forensics and investigations
  • Degree in Information Security, Criminal Justice, Intelligence, or other applicable degree
  • Network+, Security+, SSCP, ITIL, ISO 20/27k, CFE, and related certifications
