Accountabilities: The Principal Network Security Engineer will provide strategic and technical leadership in designing, implementing, and improving enterprise network security capabilities. The role requires ownership of security architecture, proactive risk management, and collaboration across teams to build secure, scalable, and reliable environments.

  • Design and define strategic roadmaps for global network security infrastructure and security posture improvements.
  • Architect and implement scalable security solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Develop and manage security controls related to Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), SASE, intrusion detection, network access control, and security auditing.
  • Design and maintain web application security solutions, including WAF, bot protection, content filtering, and traffic management capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain security policies, standards, and governance practices for network segmentation and cloud-based services.
  • Develop security protocols and procedures to protect cloud environments from evolving threats.
  • Support incident response activities by investigating security breaches, identifying root causes, and recommending long-term network security improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship on cloud network security strategies and best practices.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align security architecture with business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Develop automation solutions to improve security operations, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Support security audits, compliance assessments, evidence collection, and remediation initiatives.
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in enterprise network security, cloud environments, and security architecture. You should have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to influence stakeholders through strategic recommendations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in network security, with significant exposure to cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their native security capabilities.
  • Experience designing and managing security technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SASE, NAC, WAF, and DDoS protection.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols and technologies including DNS, NTP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, and SD-WAN.
  • Strong knowledge of routing, load balancing, edge networking, and perimeter security architectures.
  • Experience with network monitoring and analytics tools such as NetFlow, sFlow, and packet analysis solutions.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML-powered network security solutions, including anomaly detection, threat prediction, automated remediation, and intelligent analytics.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, GitOps, IaC, NetOps, and AIOps platforms.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, security architecture frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with compliance and privacy standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, and FedRAMP.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and business teams.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP or CISM are a plus.
