DECA Analytics, LLC is a Puerto Rico-based boutique advisory firm specializing in the unique business environment of Puerto Rico. Our approach is comprised of four core components:
- Foundational Level: We implement the entire process of setting up a new operation or subsidiary within Puerto Rico, from entity formation to submitting all required filings and obtaining operating permits and licenses.
- Government Incentives: We structure, negotiate, and secure Puerto Rico-specific Act 60 tax decrees and other government grant initiatives on behalf of our clients to ensure the maximum incentives are received.
- Ongoing Compliance: We manage all ongoing incentives and operational compliance filings required for operating within Puerto Rico by the various governmental agencies.
- Access to Capital: We provide access to affordable capital in the form of non-securities transactions encompassing Puerto Rico R&D or Hospitality Tax Credits, local and federal grants, and private or government-backed debt programs.
Role Summary
The role will support transactions and advisory engagements across:
- Bridge financing for local and federal grants and tax credit incentives
- Building & equipment financing
- Working capital credit facilities
- Business acquisition financing
- Investment structuring (private fund advisory)
- Valuation and broader financial advisory services
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Modeling & Analysis
- Develop and maintain complex, dynamic financial models (3-statement, cash flow, debt capacity, and returns analysis).
- Analyze client financials, projections, and capital structures to support financing strategies.
- Perform scenario, sensitivity, and downside analyses to assess risk and structure transactions.
2. Transaction Execution & Deal Support
- Support execution of debt and structured financing transactions from origination through closing.
- Assist in structuring financing solutions tailored to client needs and available incentives.
- Coordinate diligence processes and manage data rooms.
3. Financing Presentations & Marketing Materials
- Prepare high-quality client-facing materials, including: • Financing presentations
- Investment memoranda
- Lender and investor decks
- Clearly articulate transaction rationale, structure, and risk-return profile.
4. Lender & Investor Coordination
- Support outreach and communication with lenders, credit funds, and capital providers.
- Assist in managing lender diligence requests and information flow.
- Participate in negotiations related to key terms, structure, and documentation.
5. Valuation & Advisory Services
- Perform business valuations using standard methodologies (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions).
- Support strategic advisory engagements, including M&A and capital structuring.
- Provide analytical support for client decision-making.
6. Internal Collaboration & Process Execution
- Work closely with DECA’s tax, legal, and incentives teams to align financing strategies with incentive structures.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit-ready quality across all deliverables.
- Contribute to improving internal modeling templates and execution processes.
Qualifications & Prerequisites
Experience
- 3–6+ years of experience in investment banking, private credit, corporate finance, or transaction advisory.
- Strong experience in financial modeling and transaction execution.
- Experience preparing client-facing materials and working directly with senior stakeholders.
- Exposure to debt financing, structured finance, or capital markets transactions preferred.
Technical Skills
- Advanced financial modeling skills (Excel proficiency required).
- Strong understanding of financial statements, capital structures, and credit analysis.
- Experience with valuation methodologies (DCF, comps, precedent transactions).
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and ability to create polished, client-ready materials.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field (required).
- MBA, CFA, or progress toward advanced designation is a plus.
