This role is essential to support our networking operations and build specialized expertise in WDM, Ethernet, and Fiber technologies. It helps strengthen the team's capability to deliver reliable customer solutions, collaborate effectively with global stakeholders, and address complex technical challenges. The position also supports long-term talent development by creating a pipeline of skilled professionals who can grow into broader technical and cross-functional roles as business needs evolve.
What you will do
Incident management
- Perform troubleshooting and restoration of incident.
- Duties include both remote troubleshooting inside NOC as well as onsite dispatch to customer and colocation sites
- Responsible for incidents across Japan, including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, etc.
- For technical matters, join conference call with customer and Service Desk when explanation required.
- Create an Incident Report.
- Escalate complex issues to Tier 3 team and work with them to solve the problem.
- Escalate issues caused by hardware failure to equipment vendors.
- Collaborate with various internal teams, stakeholders, partners to resolve incident and service requests.
Planned work management
- Create an Implementation Request Form for the planned work performed by team.
- Plan and perform maintenance on Colt’s network equipment to maintain the service.
- Become interface for Colt and other carriers/partners
Voice Operations
- Follow up with voice carrier until service resolution and manipulate operational status of international trunks.
- Voice order execution including reviewing scripts and contents of orders to ensure its precision.
What we're looking for
Must haves:
- Business-level Japanese communication skills.
- 2+ years of experience in telecommunications, networking, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of Ethernet and IP networking technologies.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift-based environment.
Might haves:
- Since this work includes field dispatch, having a driving license is an additional advantage.
- Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment and/or hands-on field support is advantageous but not required.
- English langauge capability is a plus
