Project Engineer / Assistant Manager / Manager – HVAC & Plumbing (Data Center / Mixed Use Projects)Job Description Summary

The position ensures all mechanical services are delivered in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, statutory requirements, budget, and timelines.Job Description
About the Role:
- Manage the execution, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of HVAC and Plumbing systems for Data Center and Mixed-Use developments.
- Review MEP designs, technical specifications, shop drawings, material submittals, and engineering calculations to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Oversee the implementation of HVAC systems including Chillers, Cooling Towers, CRAC/CRAH Units, Precision Cooling Systems, AHUs, FCUs, Ventilation Systems, Exhaust Systems, and Building Cooling Infrastructure.
- Manage Plumbing and Public Health Engineering (PHE) systems including water supply, drainage, sewage treatment, storm water systems, pumping stations, hot water systems, and utility networks.
- Coordinate with Design Consultants, Contractors, Project Management Teams, and Client Stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of mechanical services.
- Monitor construction progress, quality standards, safety compliance, resource deployment, and project schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Conduct technical reviews and resolve engineering issues arising during installation, testing, and commissioning stages.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, NBC, ASHRAE, IPC, NFPA, and applicable international design and performance standards.
- Participate in procurement activities including technical bid evaluations, vendor assessments, material approvals, and contractor selection.
- Lead testing, balancing, performance validation, integrated system testing, and commissioning activities for HVAC and Plumbing systems.
- Coordinate with Electrical, ELV, BMS, Fire Protection, Civil, and Architectural teams for interface management and system integration.
- Review project budgets and monitor mechanical package costs while identifying opportunities for value engineering and operational efficiencies.
- Prepare progress reports, commissioning documentation, handover packages, as-built records, and project closeout documentation.
- Support defect liability management and post-handover troubleshooting to ensure successful project operations.
About You:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Project Engineer: 3-7 years of experience in HVAC and Plumbing systems within Data Centers, Commercial Buildings, Mixed-Use Developments, Industrial Projects, or Large Residential Developments.
- Assistant Manager: 7-12 years of relevant experience managing HVAC and Plumbing packages on large-scale construction projects.
- Manager: 12-18 years of experience leading HVAC and Mechanical Services delivery across complex Data Center or Mixed-Use developments.
- Strong knowledge of Chilled Water Systems, Precision Cooling, Ventilation Systems, Hydronic Systems, Plumbing, Water Treatment, Pumping Systems, and Utility Infrastructure.
- Experience in Data Center Cooling Systems, Mission Critical Facilities, and Energy-Efficient Mechanical Systems will be highly preferred.
- Good understanding of BMS integration, controls, automation systems, and energy management platforms.
- Experience in testing, commissioning, integrated systems validation, and project handover procedures.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering standards, codes, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Strong proficiency in design interpretation, technical reviews, project planning, and contractor management.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices, green building certifications, and energy optimization strategies is desirable.
