The Opportunity
RediMinds is looking for an experienced Technical Operations Manager to help build an exceptional engineering organization in India.
Our engineering team is sharp, ambitious and highly capable. Many joined RediMinds early in their careers and have grown rapidly with the company. We are now looking for an experienced engineering leader who can work closely alongside them, bringing the practices, judgment and standards that come from having built and operated multiple complex engineering systems before.
We are looking for someone who is technically strong, highly hands-on and passionate about developing other engineers.
You will partner closely with our Director of Engineering to strengthen engineering quality, reliability and operating discipline across all of our engineering teams and be the go-to resource for our engineers. You will mentor engineers, help solve difficult technical problems, improve development and production practices, and help the team understand what world-class engineering looks like in practice.
The goal is not to create more process. It is to build trust and help an already talented team become an exceptional one.
This role is based in Gurugram, India and we expect the Technical Operations Manager to work from our Gurugram office at least three days per week, providing engineers with accessible, day-to-day technical leadership, mentorship and support.
Raise the engineering bar
· Bring strong engineering judgment and proven practices from high-quality SaaS and technology environments into the team.
· Help establish clear standards for architecture, code quality, testing, deployment, reliability, observability and maintainability.
· Review technical approaches and help engineers make sound design and implementation decisions.
· Identify recurring engineering weaknesses and help address their root causes.
· Create practical standards that improve quality without slowing down delivery velocity.
Mentor and develop engineers
· Provide hands-on technical mentorship to engineers across the organization.
· Help early-career engineers develop stronger judgment, problem-solving skills and engineering discipline.
· Use code reviews, architecture discussions, incident reviews and day-to-day problem solving as opportunities for learning.
· Help engineers understand not just what to do, but why strong engineering teams work in particular ways.
· Build greater ownership and confidence within the team rather than creating dependency on senior leaders.
· Help identify individual development opportunities and support engineers in reaching the next level of their careers.
Strengthen technical operations
· Improve the reliability and operational maturity of RediMinds’ production systems.
· Establish and continuously improve practices for deployments, monitoring, observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, change management, disaster recovery and production support.
· Help teams establish meaningful service-level indicators, reliability metrics and operational health measures.
· Ensure production incidents result in learning and systemic improvement, not simply short-term fixes.
· Increase automation and reduce avoidable manual operational work.
Improve how we build and release software
· Strengthen CI/CD, automated testing and release practices.
· Help teams create reliable development, testing, staging and production environments.
· Encourage smaller, safer and more frequent releases.
· Improve engineering discipline around peer review, documentation, testing and deployment readiness.
· Work with engineering leadership to identify opportunities to increase development velocity without sacrificing quality.
Support difficult technical problems
· Be a senior technical resource for engineers when systems, architecture or production issues become difficult.
· Help teams diagnose complex problems systematically and determine appropriate solutions.
· Facilitate technical decision-making when there are competing approaches or trade-offs.
· Step into critical situations when needed while ensuring the team learns how to solve similar problems independently in the future.
Build an engineering culture of excellence
· Help create an environment where engineers take pride in the quality, reliability and elegance of what they build.
· Encourage thoughtful experimentation and adoption of modern engineering tools and practices, including AI-assisted software development.
· Promote strong ownership, collaboration, accountability and continuous learning.
· Help teams learn from incidents, projects and one another.
· Make engineering excellence something engineers can see and experience every day, rather than simply a set of documented standards.
What Success Looks Like
During your first 12–18 months, we would expect you to:
· Establish strong working relationships and credibility with the India engineering team.
· Create clearer and more consistently applied standards for engineering quality and production readiness.
· Significantly strengthen development, testing, deployment and operational practices.
· Improve system reliability and reduce recurring production incidents.
· Establish effective incident review and root-cause practices that result in lasting improvements.
· Improve observability and visibility into the health and performance of our production systems.
· Increase the maturity of CI/CD, automated testing and release management.
· Help engineers demonstrate stronger technical judgment, ownership and independence.
· Create a visible improvement in the overall quality and consistency of engineering output.
· Develop repeatable practices and engineering leaders so that improvements scale beyond your direct involvement.
The Person We Are Looking For
You are an experienced engineer and technical leader who has seen what excellent software engineering looks like and knows how to help others achieve it.
You have worked in mature SaaS or technology environments where reliability, code quality, testing, observability, automation and disciplined production operations were expected. You understand why those practices matter because you have personally built and operated systems where they mattered.
You are still technical. You enjoy reviewing architecture, debugging difficult problems, examining an incident or deployment process, and sitting with engineers to work through a better solution.
Just as importantly, you are a teacher.
You do not demonstrate seniority by having all the answers yourself. You ask good questions, explain your reasoning, challenge people constructively and help talented engineers develop the judgment to solve increasingly difficult problems independently.
You set a high bar while creating an environment where people are excited to reach it.
Required Experience
· Approximately 9+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE or related technical experience, ideally within SaaS or product technology companies.
· Several years of experience providing technical leadership or mentorship to engineering teams.
· Strong hands-on understanding of modern software development and production operations.
· Experience designing, building or operating scalable cloud-based SaaS platforms.
· Strong knowledge of at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
· Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring and observability.
· Strong understanding of production reliability, incident response and root-cause analysis.
· Experience improving engineering processes such as testing, deployments, code review and release management.
· Ability to review technical designs and identify risks, weaknesses and opportunities for simplification.
· Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and raise the capabilities of a technical team.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· A practical, low-ego leadership style and willingness to remain hands-on.
· Based in Gurugram, or willing to relocate to the Gurugram area, with the ability and commitment to work from the RediMinds office at least three days per week.
Especially Valuable
Experience with any of the following would be particularly valuable:
· Healthcare technology or other highly regulated technology environments.
· High-volume SaaS platforms where reliability and data integrity are critical.
· Security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, HITRUST, ISO 27001, NIST or FedRAMP.
· Kubernetes, containers and infrastructure as code.
· Modern observability and SRE practices.
· Automated QA and testing frameworks.
· AI-assisted software development and agentic engineering tools.
· Supporting distributed engineering teams across India and the United States.
· Building or significantly improving engineering practices in a fast-growing company.
· Developing talented early-career engineers into strong senior engineers and technical leaders.
Leadership Style
We are looking for someone who:
· Leads through technical credibility rather than title.
· Sets a high bar and helps people understand how to reach it.
· Coaches rather than simply fixes.
· Is comfortable getting into the details.
· Creates clarity and structure without unnecessary bureaucracy.
· Looks for root causes rather than patches.
· Believes automation is better than repeated manual work.
· Treats incidents and mistakes as opportunities to improve systems and capability.
· Gives clear, constructive feedback.
· Takes pride in building excellent engineers as well as excellent technology.
