We are currently looking for engineers to join us for the following projects:

Active Captain is our companion app designed to enhance the boating experience with key features like navigation and boat control.

Striker Cast is a GPS sonar, an easy to read device which can help the users find fish, because it shows exactly where they are.

You can find navigation and sonar technology with an intuitive interface that combines advanced technology and connectivity to meet the needs of any captain or angler.

We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require full-time presence at our office.

Responsibilities:

  • Review complex tasks for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate proficient use and knowledge of established standards and procedures.
  • Improve existing software with limited assistance from other associates.
  • Effectively manage tasks and priorities for overlapping projects and meet deadlines in a consistent, complete, and accurate manner.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally in a team environment with other Garmin associates to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrate effective discretion, judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrate strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Communicate status of work clearly providing visibility to supervisor.
  • Act as a Feature Owner for Marine initiatives that involve the apps.
  • Design and develop new modules in the Marine ecosystem.
  • Strong knowledge of Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Xcode, OOP, data structures and algorithms. 
  • 3+ years of experience in iOS development. 
  • Deep attention to details and ability to work both independently and as a member of a small team for problem solving and solution development. 
  • Demonstrate strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • BSc in Computer Science, IT or similar. 
  • Proficiency in English. 

Would be a plus:

  • Experience in leading small projects, taking on additional responsibilities, or serving as a point of contact within a team. 
  • Experience with the Bluetooth/BLE stack. 
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies. 
  • Objective C, Android and C++ knowledge
