Full description
The Associate Data Scientist works independently using a robust toolbox to develop solutions for a diverse portfolio of interesting and challenging problems within UPMC’s Marketing team. The Associate Data Scientist works alongside the Senior Manager of Data Architecture and Analytics and will implement and monitor projects pertaining to but not limited to advanced analytics, data modeling, data visualizations, and quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for conceiving, planning, designing, developing and validating robust algorithms for use in analyzing healthcare data.
- Assists with data architecture design and optimization to ensure efficient data flow and structure for cohesive marketing reporting needs.
- Identifies the business problem, data exploration, modeling, communication of final results, with the assistance of the analytics team.
- Creates predictive forecasting models based on revenue driven by marketing efforts to aid in budget development and marketing ROI.
- Works with marketing vendors and the digital marketing teams to design, develop, and implement econometric models such as a Media Mix Modeling and Multi-Touch Attribution modeling.
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
- Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Business Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Public Policy, Economics, Decision Science or related field.
- Bachelor's degree or above preferred.
- One (1) year of experience in healthcare analytics or marketing analytics required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong statistical background with sound analytical/computational skills.
- Knowledge of database management using SQL. Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as, but not limited to: C++, MATLAB, Python, or R.
- Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization tools preferred.
