We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join Procore’s Project Execution organization. In this role, you’ll lead a team building and evolving critical capabilities within Procore Connect, our platform for secure, configurable, and scalable cross-account collaboration. The primary goal of this role is to drive the delivery of reliable, reusable cross-account data-sharing capabilities that enable stakeholders to collaborate seamlessly across Procore accounts without leaving their workflow.
As a Software Engineering Manager, you’ll partner with Product Managers, Platform Architects, cross-functional engineering teams, and senior developers to guide technical decisions, evaluate complex distributed system architectures, and execute against the Procore Connect roadmap. Use your technical maturity, distributed systems expertise, and people leadership skills to foster engineering excellence, streamline cross-team integrations, and reduce rework for construction teams globally. This position reports into the Senior Manager, Software Engineering and will be based in our Cairo, Egypt office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team, providing coaching, regular feedback, performance management, and career development.
- Own your team’s delivery and outcomes, driving projects from discovery through production while proactively managing ambiguity, risks, dependencies, and execution.
- Partner closely with Product to shape the team backlog, prioritize work, define success criteria, and translate broader Procore Connect goals into executable plans.
- Apply strong technical judgment to evaluate designs, understand tradeoffs, and guide technical decisions in partnership with senior engineers and architects.
- Lead the development and operation of scalable, reliable, and reusable capabilities for cross-account data sharing and collaboration.
- Ensure strong engineering practices across architecture, code quality, testing, observability, reliability, security, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across Procore to resolve dependencies, define integration requirements, and successfully deliver cross-team initiatives.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, technical excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of software development experience, with strong foundations in object-oriented design, design patterns, APIs, distributed systems, and scalable system architecture.
- A demonstrated history of technical and people leadership, such as leading engineering teams, major projects, technical initiatives, or mentoring and developing engineers.
- Strong technical maturity and the ability to engage deeply in system design, architectural discussions, technical tradeoffs, debugging, and production engineering.
- Experience managing software engineers and supporting their performance, growth, and career development.
- Proven ability to lead complex software initiatives through ambiguity and drive teams toward clear outcomes.
- Experience building and operating distributed systems, shared services, or platform capabilities, including event-driven and asynchronous architectures.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals including reliability, scalability, observability, testing, security, and maintainability.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across Product, Design, Engineering, and other technical stakeholders.
