Foley & Lardner LLP is currently seeking an Analyst to join our Strategic Financial Arrangements team within the firm's Accounting & Finance department. This role will support the firm’s largest clients through evaluating, maintaining and tracking pricing arrangements, billing setups, profitability, and client budgets along with monitoring inventory levels. The Pricing Analyst works closely with attorneys, finance professionals, and business support teams on a regular basis on a range of topics including repricing opportunities, client reporting, and targeting key financial performance indicators (KPI) for improvement. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Support top institutional and large complex client relationships regarding financial data and metrics, including utilization, leverage, realization, and profitability.
- Develop scenarios and financial models to assess the projected profitability of pricing proposals, including alternative fee arrangements, and recommend solutions that balance client objectives with firm profitability goals.
- Support attorneys and accounting personnel by documenting pricing arrangements, maintaining approved fee terms, and tracking client budgets.
- Coordinate with billing and accounting teams to establish and maintain accurate billing setups that reflect agreed-upon pricing arrangements.
- Assist with client-facing fee monitoring and reporting requests by preparing financial data, analyses, and summaries.
- Support the annual billing rate-setting process, including rate analysis and development, internal approvals, coordination of system updates, and ongoing governance to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support team members with ad hoc pricing, reporting, and financial analysis requests.
- Maintain data integrity within pricing, budgeting, and financial reporting systems.
- Utilize technology, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency, enhance insights, and support informed decision-making across day-to-day functions.
- Stay informed of legal industry pricing trends and best practices and contribute to continuous improvement of pricing processes and reporting tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required
- Minimum of one (1) year of applicable accounting or finance work experience required
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, with ability to communicate with all members of the firm, including Partners and Management
- Strong analytical skills and high level of attention to detail
- Knowledge of professional services, financial metrics, or billing practices preferred #LI-Hybrid
