About the Role We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Manager to lead a multidisciplinary Engineering team and oversee NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, PLM/ECO, Quality, and Global Regulatory Compliance. Report to COO. Working closely with R&D and Product Management, you will lead the product lifecycle from development and Product Readiness through mass production and ongoing product support. You will manage four functional leads and collaborate with global manufacturing, OEM/ODM, suppliers, and regulatory partners.
Key Responsibilities NPI & Manufacturing Engineering• Lead end-to-end NPI from development through Product Readiness and mass production, including prototype and pilot builds.
- Drive DFx, manufacturing and assembly processes, BOM/AVL readiness, engineering risk management, and Packaging & Labels.
- Provide engineering and quality support to contract manufacturers and OEM/ODM partners, including Jabil.
- Lead engineering initiatives related to cost reduction, manufacturing optimization, and Manufacturing Transfer.
- OEM/ODM Sourcing & Management - Source, qualify, and manage OEM/ODM partners, including building new supplier relationships and leading technical and commercial negotiations.
PLM & Product Lifecycle• Lead Oracle Agile PLM, including ECO/MCO, Change Control, CCB, product data, BOM, AVL, and engineering documentation.
- Manage component lifecycle and EOL activities, including alternative component identification and Components Engineering.
- Support product maintenance and engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle.
Quality, Regulatory & Compliance• Lead global product quality, regulatory, and certification activities for Kramer, OEM, and ODM products.
- Manage certification projects with testing laboratories and regulatory bodies, including CE, FCC, UL, UKCA, RCM, and other regional requirements.
- Ensure compliance for critical components and environmental requirements, including RoHS, REACH, WEEE, Packaging, Batteries, ESG, and Sustainability.
- Maintain ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 certifications, including Follow-up Audits and ongoing compliance.
- Manage the regulatory and certification budget.
- Monitor regulatory developments and lead emerging requirements, including the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
Team Leadership & Collaboration• Lead and develop four functional leads covering Standards & Regulatory, Quality & Manufacturing Engineering, PLM/ECO, and NPI/Computing Products.
- Set priorities and ensure effective execution across Engineering functions.
- Work closely with R&D, Product, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Logistics, V&V, Quality, and Finance.
- Manage relationships with contract manufacturers, OEM/ODM partners, testing laboratories, component suppliers, and external engineering partners.
- Lead cross-functional engineering projects while managing priorities, risks, quality, cost, and timelines.
Qualifications Education & Experience• At least 10 years of experience in engineering management roles within the electronics industry; experience in the Audio & Video signal processing and distribution industry is preferred.
- B.Sc. in Electronics or Electrical Engineering is required; an advanced Engineering degree or MBA is an advantage.
- OEM/ODM Sourcing & Management - Source, qualify, and manage OEM/ODM partners, including building new supplier relationships and leading technical and commercial negotiations.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end NPI and DFx processes through mass production.
- Experience with EMS, OEM, and ODM manufacturing partners, including commercial and technical negotiations.
- Experience in Manufacturing Engineering and Components Engineering.
- Experience with PLM, BOM/AVL, component lifecycle, and EOL management.
- Proven engineering project management experience.
Professional Knowledge• Strong knowledge of international regulatory and certification requirements, including FCC, CE, UL, UKCA, and RCM.
- Experience with PLM systems, preferably Oracle Agile PLM, and ECO/MCO processes.
- Strong understanding of DFx, including Design for Manufacturing, Test, Cost, and Assembly.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and environmental compliance requirements, including RoHS, REACH, WEEE, ESG, and Sustainability.
