System Administrator
LOCATION: Eglin AFB
JOB STATUS: Full-Time
CLEARANCE: Top Secret/SCI
CERTIFICATION: 8140
TRAVEL: 5%
Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a System Administrator for the 782nd Test Squadron located at Eglin AFB, FL.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Top Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; extensive experience may substitute for education with government approval.
- DoD 8140 compliance required; Security+ mandatory.
- Mastery of DISA STIGs, SCC, STIG Viewer, Host Base Security System, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution.
- Recognized industry leader with a proven track record of innovation and impact in system administration, cybersecurity, and information assurance.
- Extensive experience supporting classified, mission-critical environments within DoD or equivalent organizations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS environments, Windows Domains, Group Policies, PowerShell, Python, DNS, DHCP, TCP, UDP, Layer 2/3 networking.=
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
- Outstanding communication, customer interaction, and presentation skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- CISSP, CASP, or equivalent highly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the principal technical authority for information systems operations, cybersecurity, and information assurance, setting standards and guiding teams across the organization.
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of security controls for real-time, standalone, and networked systems in classified environments.
- Direct vulnerability management, incident response, and risk mitigation strategies for complex, multispectral test facilities.
- Evaluate, select, and integrate emerging technologies to advance mission capabilities and support dynamic test programs.
- Architect robust configuration management and change control processes, ensuring traceability and integrity of system changes.
- Oversee Certification & Accreditation, audit, and compliance programs, leveraging advanced tools such as DISA STIGs, SCAP Compliance Checker, and STIG Viewer.
- Mentor and develop engineering and IT teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Develop and implement strategies for the evolution and growth of automation hardware and software infrastructure.
