This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Engineer based in United States.

The Data Engineer will support the development and optimization of modern data platforms that enable business intelligence, reporting, and analytics initiatives.This role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, improving data quality, and supporting enterprise data management strategies.The ideal candidate will work with advanced cloud technologies, Databricks, and data engineering frameworks to deliver reliable solutions.You will collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to transform complex data into actionable insights.The position offers the opportunity to contribute to mission-critical projects in a collaborative federal consulting environment.This role is ideal for a data professional who enjoys solving complex challenges and improving enterprise data capabilities.

Accountabilities The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise data solutions while supporting data governance, analytics, and reporting initiatives. This role requires close collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, scalability, and operational efficiency.

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Databricks notebooks, workflows, and ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, PySpark, SQL, and Delta Lake.
  • Build scalable data ingestion solutions and support Lakehouse architectures, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.
  • Assist with performance optimization, cluster management, operational support, and implementation of data engineering best practices.
  • Support enterprise Master Data Management initiatives by improving data quality, standardization, matching, and stewardship processes.
  • Contribute to data governance activities, including metadata management, lineage tracking, business glossary development, and security practices.
  • Partner with business users to understand reporting requirements and create datasets supporting dashboards, analytics, and management information needs.
  • Troubleshoot data quality, reporting, and integration issues across multiple enterprise systems.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical discussions, code reviews, documentation activities, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable data solutions.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring strong data engineering experience, hands-on expertise with Databricks and cloud-based platforms, and the ability to collaborate effectively in enterprise environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data solutions using Databricks.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with SQL and Python/PySpark development.
  • Proven experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and working with Delta Lake and Lakehouse architectures.
  • Experience supporting AWS cloud environments and related data services.
  • Experience with enterprise data governance, data quality initiatives, and data management practices.
  • Active Databricks certification, such as Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate, Professional, Data Analyst Associate, Machine Learning Associate, or another current Databricks certification.
  • Strong understanding of Apache Spark, Unity Catalog, AWS services, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, or similar technologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Master Data Management solutions such as Informatica MDM, Reltio, or Profisee is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Jira, and collaborative software development practices.
  • Federal consulting experience and experience supporting Public Trust programs are highly preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance.
  • Ability to meet federal identity verification requirements and complete suitability processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
