This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Engineer based in United States.

This role will play a key part in modernizing and scaling a cloud-based data infrastructure supporting critical healthcare analytics.You will design and build robust data pipelines, warehouse models, and transformation workflows using Snowflake and modern data engineering technologies.A major focus will be migrating legacy SQL Server systems and ETL processes into a more scalable cloud environment.You will work with sensitive healthcare data, making security, reliability, data integrity, and compliance essential to your work.The position combines hands-on engineering with technical mentorship, architectural input, and continuous improvement.You will have meaningful ownership over the tools, processes, and data architecture that support the broader technology platform.This is an opportunity for an experienced data engineer to make a direct impact in a growing, collaborative, and technology-driven environment.

Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL and reverse-ETL pipelines connecting Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, and legacy SQL Server environments.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain Snowflake data warehouse models with a focus on performance, reliability, scalability, and high availability.
  • Implement and maintain row-level and column-level security policies to safeguard sensitive healthcare information.
  • Partner with existing data engineering teams to plan and execute the migration of legacy ETL processes and warehouse models from SQL Server to Snowflake and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain reliable data transformation workflows using dbt.
  • Monitor data pipeline health, investigate failures, troubleshoot issues, and maintain data integrity and availability across critical data flows.
  • Work with healthcare claims, eligibility, payer, TPA, and internal data sources to ensure reliable ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, code reviews, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor peers and share technical knowledge to strengthen data engineering practices across the team.
  • Learn and adopt Sigma as a business intelligence and reporting platform.
  • Help shape data architecture, tooling, workflows, and engineering practices as the technology organization continues to scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, and data warehouse modeling.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake, including architecture, optimization, performance management, and security.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Experience with dbt and Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience with at least one major BI or data visualization platform such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Sigma.
  • Practical experience implementing row-level and/or column-level security within data warehouse environments.
  • Previous experience working with healthcare data and an understanding of data sensitivity, HIPAA requirements, and healthcare security best practices.
  • Strong understanding of data pipeline reliability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and data quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and maintain high-quality execution in a fully remote environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor peers and contribute constructively to technical discussions.
  • Experience with healthcare claims, eligibility, payer, or TPA data is preferred.
  • Experience migrating SQL Server data infrastructure to Snowflake or another cloud platform is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Sigma, Agile development practices, and tools such as Jira is advantageous.
  • Experience working within a startup or rapidly growing technology organization is a plus.
  • Must have U.S. work authorization that does not now or in the future require employment visa sponsorship.
