Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking an Engineering Services Manager. This role is based at the Syracuse, NY facility and includes approximately 25% travel. Relocation assistance is available.

Our GEIS division manufactures over 100,000 products for NEC and IEC applications, including conduit fittings and cable glands, industrial control and electrical apparatus, enclosures, industrial luminaires (including LED), plugs and receptacles, drilling and marine products, commercial construction, solar solutions, industrial and commercial cable tray, mechanical hanging components, and bracing products.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $146000 - $215000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:
This high-visibility role reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering and is crucial in managing and leading our engineering technical services business function and driving revenue team, both domestically and internationally to drive specification capture and accelerate project execution by providing customers with both application expertise and complete engineered project solutions. The team includes the Engineered to Order (ETO) group, Technical Application and Design Solutions Engineering, and Commercial Engineered Solutions Services team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the VP of Engineering to develop and implement a technical service strategy that supports the division’s strategic global growth initiatives.
- Utilize project management skills to prioritize escalations, improve response times, and drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Establish and execute annual stretch targets, including revenue, margin, and service-level commitments.
- Develop and monitor team metrics (e.g., turnaround times, project influence), proactively identify gaps/opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
- Drive process improvements for the Engineering Technical Services and Seismic ETO/MTO teams.
- Manage the customer-facing and customer service tool pipeline.
- Maintain a highly motivated workforce with high levels of employee engagement.
- Engage with the global ETO and Engineering Services organization (internal and external to GEIS) to identify efficiencies and harmonize ways of working.
- Attract, select, develop, train, coach, appraise, and motivate the technical support organization, with an emphasis on building succession within the team.
- Develop and execute a scalable technical talent development strategy, including onboarding, skills development, knowledge management, and workforce readiness programs to support rapid global team expansion and sustained business growth.

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or related discipline from an accredited institution
- Minimum eight (8) years of work experience in an engineering, operations and/or project management role within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum four (4) years of people leadership experience, including leading global teams
- Minimum two (2) years of commercial/customer experience interfacing with internal/external customers

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Administration
- Prior experience working with Engineer-to-Order (ETO) products and teams, product management, customer service, technical service, technical training organizations
- Proven track record of building global organizational capability and talent through effective recruiting, training, coaching, development and optimizing organizational structure
