The Team:  

The Equity Data value stream at S&P Dow Jones Indices is a collaborative, detail-oriented team that takes pride in being the foundation for globally recognized financial products. Responsibilities and Impact: 

The Analyst, Reference Data and Security Master is accountable for designing and delivering a unified Security Master that serves as the single source of truth for security reference data across products. This includes defining the canonical data model (IDs, classifications, instrument terms, listings/venues, issuer links, and lifecycle states), and ensuring it supports Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and maintain the unified Security Master database serving as the single source of truth for equity, fixed income, and derivatives reference data across all S&P DJI products
  • Develop and implement robust data quality frameworks including automated validation, auditing, and reconciliation processes to ensure 99%+ data accuracy and completeness
  • Process and integrate complex corporate actions (mergers, acquisitions, splits, dividends) into the security master, ensuring timely and accurate reflection across downstream systems
  • Build and optimize complex SQL scripts and Python automation tools to streamline data workflows and reduce manual processing time by 30%+
  • Collaborate with index calculation, product development, and client support teams to align security master capabilities with evolving business requirements and new product launches
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to identify data gaps, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to innovative solutions for handling emerging security types and market structures

What We’re Looking For: 

Basic Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services with knowledge of securities business, including equity markets, trading operations, or investment management
  • Advanced SQL skills with proven ability to independently build complex scripts for data extraction, transformation, and validation across large relational databases
  • Strong programming experience in Python for data automation, workflow development, and integration tasks
  • Deep understanding of database technologies (such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL) with experience in data modeling and performance optimization
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment in Mexico City with strong English communication skills (written and verbal)

Additional Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Data Factory for large-scale data processing and analytics
  • Knowledge of ETL/data integration tools like Power Automate, Informatica, or Talend for automated data workflows
  • Familiarity with financial data standards and identifiers (ISIN, CUSIP, SEDOL) and experience with market data vendors or index methodologies
