Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world — from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies.

The Leo Network Observability team designs, implements and operates the software stack to manage beam planning, network health views, data plane services and Applications with AI native initiatives that provides a high throughput telecom service comprised of Low Earth Orbit satellites, customer terminals, gateways, cloud services and terrestrial network infrastructure that connects into public and private networks.

We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to serve as the technical leader for Network Observability and AI foundational solutions for an advanced global telecom service via both space and terrestrial networks.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities *Architect and deliver a scalable, end-to-end platform supporting network observability.

*Design and implement distributed orchestration systems that coordinate across dozens of domain-specific internal and external services, ensuring reliable end-to-end workflow execution at scale.

* Establish the AI/ML foundation layer, including knowledge base architectures and intelligent automation frameworks, to accelerate developer productivity and reduce time-to-market.

* Tackle novel, ambiguous technical challenges at the intersection of artificial intelligence, large-scale distributed systems, and network domain complexity, delivering production-grade solutions with high operational bar.

A day in the life As a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE III) on the Network Observability team, you will own the design, development, and technical leadership of end-to-end system that provides network health, monitoring and alerting at region, cell and individual customer terminal levels, spanning requirements definition, implementation, test automation, and production validation. You will enable Amazon Leo to launch highly available internet service across 100+ global markets.

Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
