Your Role 

The purpose of this role is to drive and manage the portfolios of key suppliers with a focus on profitable and sustainable growth on the Water Treatment Value Add (WTVA) portfolio of products through the execution of a well-defined strategy and sound marketing and business development activities.

The Product Manager, WTVA is responsible for the product management of Water Treatment Value Add (WTVA) products across Industrial and Municipal markets within the assigned region. This role is accountable for the overall profitable growth of assigned product lines.

The Product Manager will work closely with District Sales leadership, generalist sellers, technical specialists, customer service, operations, and purchasing to ensure consistent, effective execution of Brenntag’s Water Treatment Value Add (WTVA) value proposition.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain effective and strategic relationships with key suppliers, the Brenntag sales force, Sales & District Management, and the WT Team.
  • Design and execute marketing plans for each product line.
  • Negotiate off-list price for strategic and long-term opportunities. Manage the off-list pricing & subsequent claims for each supplier & product category where this is applicable.
  • Direct & Oversee product code set ups for WTVA in the designated region.
  • Work in collaboration with WT leadership to develop budgets by product line and ensure each product line meets or exceeds budget year over year.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth awareness of the pipeline of each individual product line as well as wins, losses and threats to current business. This information is critical to designed an accurate budget / margin bridge per product line annually.
  • Drive sales activity on open or lost opportunities to close / regain.
  • Responsible for the communication and implementation of price changes on designated product portfolio. This includes thorough communication internally on price changes, price drivers and overall market intelligence that sales can use to educate their customer base.
  • Responsible for thorough Sell Price Management (SPM) for designated product portfolio.  
  • Involvement and ownership of supplier contract management for both new and existing suppliers.
  • Ensuring Brenntag is holding the “right” amount of inventory in the “right” places at the “right” price and “right” packaging. Working with the regions to ensure alignment on purchasing products that are classified as WTVA.  
  • Consistently looking for cost out opportunities on WTVA products.
  • Support the sales team with joint customer calls.
  • Ensure effective promotion of applicable product lines internally and support external marketing activities as required.

Your Profile 

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in product management which preference given to candidates with experience within the water treatment industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM tools (Salesforce preferred).
  • Strong understanding of industrial and commercial water treatment markets and value-added selling models.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence internally and externally.
  • Highly effective at building relationships.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time depending on the needs up the business and what stage you are at in the job. Eg at the beginning could be higher end of the travel percentage.
