Job title: Catalog Data Engineer Your role:

The Catalog Data Engineer will be responsible for managing catalog, product, CBOM, BOM, pricing, and configuration-related data across multiple applications. The role will translate design, marketing, and product requirements into structured system-level inputs needed to build and maintain catalogs, configuration rules, master data, and Bills of Materials. The position will also support validation calls, change implementation, documentation, communication, and cross-functional alignment to ensure accurate and timely execution of product and system changes.

3. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage catalog, product, pricing, CBOM, BOM, and configuration-related data across multiple applications, ensuring accuracy, completeness, consistency, traceability, and alignment with business and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate and support CBOM requests by gathering required inputs, validating product information, aligning with stakeholders, and ensuring timely execution through defined processes.
  • Collaborate with product, design, marketing, pricing, engineering, quality, manufacturing, operations, and other cross-functional teams to understand product structures, business requirements, dependencies, and change impacts.
  • Translate design, marketing, and product specifications into structured system-level inputs required to build, maintain, and update product catalogs, configuration logic, rules, master data, and Bills of Materials.
  • Support new product introductions, sustaining product changes, and engineering changes by ensuring that catalog structures, product data, rules, pricing information, and application updates are implemented accurately and on time.
  • Ensure effective end-to-end data flow across applications by coordinating inputs, validating outputs, resolving data issues, monitoring dependencies, and escalating risks or blockers when required.
  • Host and facilitate validation calls with relevant stakeholders to review catalog and configuration changes, confirm requirements, resolve open points, secure alignment, and support implementation readiness.
  • Drive communication and change management for catalog, product, configuration, and system-related changes, ensuring impacted teams are informed, aligned, and prepared for execution.
  • Document configuration and catalog activities with clarity, traceability, and accuracy to support governance, audit readiness, and compliance with documentation standards.
  • Contribute to simplification, continuous improvement, data quality enhancement, and operational excellence across catalog and configuration management processes.

Experience and Background

  • Experience in catalog management, product data management, configuration management, pricing operations, CBOM support, BOM management, or a similar data-driven operational role.
  • Experience working with multiple business applications and understanding the flow of product, pricing, configuration, and master data across systems.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions, sustaining product changes, engineering changes, or structured change implementation processes is preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with product, design, marketing, engineering, quality, manufacturing, pricing, operations, or BU stakeholders in a shared service, CoE, or cross-functional environment.
  • Exposure to validation routines, quality processes, training compliance, CAPA support, audit requirements, or regulated operational environments is an advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Catalog and Configuration Data Management: Ability to manage catalog, product, pricing, CBOM, BOM, and configuration-related data across multiple systems with strong attention to accuracy and completeness.
  • Requirement Translation: Ability to interpret design, marketing, and product specifications and convert them into structured system-based inputs for catalogs, configuration logic, and Bills of Materials.
  • Application and Data Flow Understanding: Understanding of end-to-end data flow across applications, including dependencies, validation points, downstream impacts, issue resolution, and change governance.
  • Tools and Systems Knowledge: Working knowledge of SAP ERP, Product Data Management systems such as eMatrix and Windchill, and Material Requirements Planning fundamentals is preferred.
  • Communication and Change Management: Ability to communicate changes clearly, facilitate validation discussions, manage stakeholder expectations, and support adoption of catalog, product, or system updates.
  • Quality and Compliance Mindset: Strong focus on process adherence, data quality, documentation discipline, traceability, audit readiness, and reliable execution in a regulated environment.

Minimum required Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Management, Product data Management, Configuration Management, Systems Management or equivalent with Vocational Education OR no prior experience with Bachelor's Degree.
