Job Description

Tieto Tech Consulting, is looking for a highly skilled and motivated  IP Network Engineer NOC, a professional who will join a project within a Telecom Team for our respectful client BICS.

Role Purpose

As a Senior IP Network Engineer NOC, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, troubleshooting, and coordinating the resolution of network incidents affecting our global IP backbone and telecommunications services. You will play a key role in ensuring service continuity and delivering outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform real-time monitoring of network and service performance across BICS ‘s infrastructure.
  • Manage and coordinate infrastructure incidents, both reactive and proactive, impacting:
  • Capacity Services (Leased Lines and Carrier Ethernet)
  • IP Backbone Services
  • Backbone Products
  • BICS Network infrastructure, including transmission systems and network equipment
  • Conduct the initial assessment of network incidents and classify them as traffic-affecting or non-traffic-affecting.
  • Analyze incidents to identify the point of failure and resolve issues whenever possible.
  • Escalate and coordinate unresolved incidents with the appropriate internal teams or external providers, ensuring timely follow-up and feedback.
  • Act as the primary operational interface for BICS customers during service incidents.
  • Provide regular and professional communication to customers regarding incident status, actions taken, and expected resolution timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
  • Contribute to business continuity by participating in a 24/7 operational environment that guarantees network and service availability.
  • Working in flexible shift

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in ICT, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Passion for networking and the telecommunications industry.
  • Strong IP networking knowledge, with CCNA certification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in IP network operations and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Cisco and/or Nokia IP networking equipment is considered a strong advantage.
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift environment, including day shifts, evening shifts, and regular weekend coverage.
  • Comfortable working within a rotating schedule and collaborating with colleagues to manage shift swaps when needed.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-moving technical environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Proactive, flexible, and capable of performing effectively under pressure.
  • Strong team spirit and excellent collaboration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in English
  • Spanish is a plus
