Job Title

Senior Software Engineer – Cloud & Network Integration

About your role

In this role, you will contribute to the development and support of the cloud-native Vision NEXT platform — Fiserv's next-generation, cloud-native card issuing and payment processing platform built on microservices, APIs, and event-driven architecture — leveraging APIs, event-driven architectures, AWS services, and real-time authorization capabilities. You will serve as a technical resource for application development, integration, troubleshooting, and client implementations while helping provide software solutions for our LATAM partners.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test, and implement software applications supporting Fiserv's Vision NEXT platform.
  • Develop and support REST and event-driven integrations — RabbitMQ, webhooks — applying retry and idempotency design patterns for reliable delivery.
  • Develop and support integrations utilizing APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Build and maintain API test automation using RestAssured, Karate, and Postman/Newman.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, connectivity, and production support issues.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, network, and security teams to ensure platform stability, performance, and reliability.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, security requirements, and engineering best practices.
  • Support cloud-native applications deployed within AWS environments.
  • Monitor system performance and assist with root cause analysis for application and network-related issues.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 6+ years of experience in software development, software engineering, or related technology disciplines.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Java, C#, C++, C, or similar object-oriented programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience with REST and event-driven integrations — RabbitMQ, webhooks — and retry/idempotency design patterns.
  • 2+ years of experience developing or supporting applications within AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
  • Experience working with APIs, microservices, and distributed application architectures.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN connectivity, firewalls, load balancing, and SSL/TLS.
  • Experience troubleshooting application performance, connectivity, and integration issues in enterprise environments.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, professional experience, and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Experience within financial services, payments, banking, or fintech environments.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, event-driven systems, APIs, and real-time transaction processing platforms.
  • Ability to write technical specifications a development team can build from.
  • Experience deploying and supporting containerized applications on Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift, including networking, scaling, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with networking technologies including firewalls, load balancers, proxies, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Experience supporting applications in AWS environments.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
