The Opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our purpose-led delivery team and help shape initiatives that create meaningful outcomes for our operational stakeholders across delivery, support, fibre and billing. As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll be part of a delivery team that helps define and design initiatives for our technology roadmap. You'll work closely with business stakeholders, architects, delivery teams and technical experts to understand business needs, assess impacts, and support solution design that delivers value.
This is a collaborative role where you'll combine strategic thinking with practical business analysis, helping shape future-state processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and make sure solutions meet both business and customer needs.
You'll also contribute to the ongoing development of the BA practice by applying Vocus' BA framework, sharing knowledge, and supporting best-practice analysis techniques.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with business operations stakeholders to understand objectives, challenges and opportunities
- Lead business discovery activities including current state, future state, gap and impact analysis
- Elicit, document and validate business, functional and user requirements
- Translate business needs into customer-focused features and user stories
- Facilitate workshops with business and technology stakeholders to build shared understanding and alignment
- Analyse impacts across systems, processes and people to support effective solution design
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners and delivery teams to define and refine requirements
- Support initiative prioritisation through business benefits assessments and analysis
- Develop process maps, customer journeys, BPMN diagrams and other visual artefacts
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies and issues relating to business analysis activities
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and execution
- Work closely with project and change teams to enable successful operational handovers and business readiness
- Produce process documentation, user guides and training materials where required
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and act as a trusted liaison between business and technology teams
What You'll Bring to the role
- Around 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst, with exposure to operating at a Senior BA level or taking ownership of senior-level analysis activities.
- Experience contributing to analysis activities within complex projects, transformation programs or similar change environments.
- Proven experience in requirements gathering, documentation and stakeholder management, in particular across Operational Stakeholders .
- Demonstrated experience working across both business and technical teams to deliver outcomes
- Experience facilitating workshops and engaging senior stakeholders across multiple functions, with excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Experience producing process maps, diagrams and business analysis artefacts using tools such as Lucidchart or Visio
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain momentum in fast-paced environments
- Experience working in Agile environments and applying Agile BA practices
- Telecommunications industry experience not necessary but considered
- Exposure to telecom value chain processes including Sales, Delivery, Assurance and Billing
- Experience working with Salesforce, ServiceNow, CRM, billing or digital platforms
- Experience with BPMN, customer journey mapping, context diagrams and other process modelling techniques
- Experience supporting data analysis, reporting and dashboard development
