Business Analyst, Data Platform
Data Strategy & Architecture
Company Overview:
Founded in 1987, CenterSquare Investment Management is an independent, employee-owned real asset manager focused on listed real estate, private equity real estate and private real estate debt. As a trusted fiduciary, our success is firmly rooted in aligning our interests with those of our clients, partners and employees. CenterSquare is headquartered in suburban Philadelphia, with offices in New York, Los Angeles, London and Singapore. With $14 billion in assets under management (September 2025), CenterSquare and its affiliates are proud to manage investments on behalf of some of the world’s most well-known institutional and private investors.
Job Overview:
The Business Analyst, AI & Data Platform is a uniquely broad role designed for a small, fast-moving team modernizing CenterSquare’s data foundation from the ground up. The role combines two functions that typically sit in separate positions: the deep, methodical work of process documentation, data requirements gathering, and use case development; and the cross-functional coordination work of tracking initiative dependencies, managing stakeholder communication, and keeping concurrent workstreams moving without director-level intervention. Reporting to the Director, Head of Data Strategy and AI, this role works directly alongside Data Engineering to ensure the firm’s emerging cloud data platform is built to the right specifications, on a coordinated timeline, with full stakeholder visibility. This position is based in CenterSquare’s Conshohocken, PA office.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Documentation & Workflow Analysis
- Conduct structured interviews with investment, operations, and marketing team members to capture current-state workflows, data inputs, and process logic to produce process maps and workflow documentation
- Maintain a living inventory of firm wide data processes, outputs–with ownership, refresh frequency, and quality notes documented for each.
Data Requirements & Use Case Development
- Translate workflows and reporting needs into structured data requirements and Snowflake ingestion specifications
- Develop and maintain a prioritized use case backlog
Program Coordination & Delivery Tracking
- Surface cross-initiative dependencies; own and coordinate workstreams
- Translate technical program progress into concise, accurate status updates for leadership
- Maintain program-level artifacts including decision logs, milestone trackers, and meeting outputs
Stakeholder Engagement & Data Governance Support
- Build trusted working relationships with senior subject matter experts across investment, operations, and marketing to surface tacit process knowledge and earn cooperation with documentation and migration efforts.
- Support the development of the firm’s data ownership model by facilitating data owner assignments, documenting naming conventions, and maintaining the data dictionary in collaboration with the Data Analytics Engineer.
- Contribute to governance documentation including data lineage records, access control definitions, and quality standards that support AI-readiness and regulatory defensibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in information systems, business, finance, or a related field preferred.
- 3–6 years of experience spanning business analysis, process documentation, and cross-functional program or project coordination; financial services or asset management experience strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data platform required; comfort reading and writing SQL in a Snowflake environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate across two distinct work modes: deep, focused documentation work requiring sustained attention, and broad, reactive coordination work requiring rapid context-switching.
- Exposure to asset management operations, investment workflows, or financial data environments; able to build credibility quickly with tenured investment professionals.
- Exceptional written communication skills with experience producing structured documentation for technical and non-technical audiences and translating technical progress into executive-ready narratives.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and hold delivery accountable across organizational boundaries without formal authority.
- Self-directed and intellectually curious; comfortable operating in a startup environment
