Full description

What if running an e-commerce business could become dramatically simpler — with AI helping sellers manage orders, inventory, pricing and operations across every channel they sell on?

Amazon Smart Commerce is looking for a Principal Product Manager - Tech to lead SmartHub (including the team of PMs), our multi-channel commerce operations platform. SmartHub brings together orders, inventory, catalog, returns, warehousing and business insights across marketplaces and D2C channels into a single system, helping businesses operate at scale without navigating multiple disconnected tools.

We are now at an exciting inflection point. Advances in generative and agentic AI create an opportunity to fundamentally rethink how sellers operate their businesses — moving from dashboards and workflows that tell sellers what happened, toward intelligent experiences that understand their business, identify what needs attention, recommend actions and increasingly execute work on their behalf.

As the Principal PM for SmartHub, you will define this next chapter. You will own the long-term product vision and roadmap for SmartHub and lead important horizontal capabilities such as pricing that span the broader Smart Commerce portfolio.

This is a role for a product builder who enjoys solving complex platform problems, operating in ambiguity and translating emerging technology into simple products that deliver measurable customer and business impact.

Key job responsibilities Own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for SmartHub, Amazon Smart Commerce's multi-channel operations platform spanning order management, inventory, catalog, returns, warehousing and analytics. Define how AI and agentic experiences can transform commerce operations — helping businesses move from manually operating software toward systems that understand business context, surface opportunities and risks, recommend decisions and automate repetitive work. Reimagine high-frequency seller workflows such as order processing, inventory management, exception handling, returns and pricing to make operating across multiple sales channels dramatically simpler. Lead horizontal product capabilities such as pricing that can create leverage across SmartHub and the broader Smart Commerce portfolio. Develop a deep understanding of sellers ranging from emerging businesses to high-volume brands, including the operators who use SmartHub every day in warehouses and back offices. Use customer research, product data and business insights to identify the highest-value problems and translate them into simple, scalable product experiences. Partner deeply with engineering, science and UX teams on complex platform and AI problems, making thoughtful trade-offs across customer experience, reliability, scalability and speed. Define and drive metrics across adoption, engagement, operational efficiency, seller experience and business impact. Work across Amazon and external commerce ecosystems to build integrations and capabilities that allow businesses to operate seamlessly across marketplaces and D2C channels. Influence senior leaders and partner teams across organizational boundaries to establish long-term product and technology direction. Raise the product management bar through strong product judgment, first-principles thinking, clear written narratives and mentorship of other product leaders.

A day in the life You might start the day speaking with a seller or warehouse operator processing thousands of orders across Amazon, Flipkart and their own website, identifying where manual work and exceptions slow them down. Later, you could work with engineers and scientists on an AI agent that detects inventory risks or automates an operational workflow, review adoption and reliability metrics with the team, and then align senior leaders on a multi-year product strategy. You will move fluidly between warehouse-floor details, customer experience, platform architecture, AI possibilities and business strategy.

About the team Amazon Smart Commerce is building the technology infrastructure for agentic commerce that helps businesses sell and operate wherever their customers shop.

SmartHub is our multi-channel operations platform, helping sellers bring orders, inventory, catalog, returns and business insights from multiple marketplaces and D2C channels into one system. It is built for the operational realities of commerce — high-volume events, warehouse workflows, complex integrations and businesses that cannot afford downtime.

We believe AI creates an opportunity to reinvent this category. Our ambition is to evolve from software that helps sellers manage workflows to an intelligent commerce operating system that helps them run and grow their businesses.
