The Opportunity:

CACI at Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) is looking for a Data Scientist to expand our maintenance detection algorithms for Boeing F/A-18 aircrafts. Your expertise will enhance the Navy’s F/A-18 fleet readiness by developing case studies and anomaly detection algorithms for aircraft maintenance actions.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various aircraft sensors, maintenance logs, and operational data.
  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following best practices and coding standards to ensure maintainability and long-term performance of applications.
  • Preform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in aircraft performance and maintenance data.
  • Design and implement anomaly detection algorithms to identify unusual behaviors in aircraft data.
  • Develop machine learning models to detect component failures or malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with Aerospace Engineers, Software Engineers, Maintenance Personnel, and other project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 0-3 years of job experience.
  • Strong knowledge of MATLAB and Python.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen, and able to obtain a DoD Secret Clerance.

Desired:

  • Active DoD Secret Clerance.
  • CompTIA Security + Certification.
  • Experience with PowerBI and SQL.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. $66,700 - $133,300
