We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Assistant Manager, Product Development and Management
In this role you will:
- Manage and monitor premium discount spending to achieve targeted business outcomes while ensuring alignment with established budgets, profitability goals and risk thresholds.
- Support the formulation and governance of special pricing and quotation to reinforce HSBC Life’s market leadership across various channels, particularly within the High Net Worth (HNW) segment, through a balanced assessment of market competition, profitability, and risk factors.
- Work closely with the Distribution, Actuarial, and Commercial teams, along with the Second Line of Defence (2LOD), to effectively manage and optimize discount campaigns and special pricing initiatives.
- Assist in the end-to-end insurance product development cycle–ideation, product engineering, system development, product approval and launch support.
- Provide assistance for product enhancements and address ad-hoc requests for changes to existing offerings.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of core responsibilities. Maintain high service standards and quality to support the overall business strategy. Ensure new products, discount and special pricing offers comply with established internal frameworks and guidelines.
To be successful you will need:
- Prior experience in the life insurance sector is required. A solid background in life insurance product development and tactical customer offers is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of insurance products and market dynamics is essential. Candidates with professional qualifications in quantitative analysis, actuarial science, finance, or related fields will be given preference.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A good team player who can collaborate effectively with teammates and other stakeholders to ensure efficient task and project delivery.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are required. Proficiency in both Chinese and English is mandatory.
