Job Description
Junior Product Analyst
Travel & Conversion
Office Location: KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur
Team: Product & Analytics (Product Design: Travel Squad)
Why This Role Matters
At AirAsia MOVE, our goal is to become the most customer-centric travel platform in Asia. The heart of that goal lives within our booking experience. To support this mission, we are looking for a Junior Product Analyst to help evaluate and optimize our core travel flows, specifically for flights and hotels.
In this role, you won't just be pulled into pulling numbers; you will look closely at the data logic, user flows, and behavioral metrics that turn a complex booking process into an easy and elegant journey. You will be an essential partner in identifying friction points, ensuring data integrity, and uncovering insights that drive conversion for tens of millions of users.
What You Will Do
- Funnel Optimization & Measurement: Identify metrics and the best approaches to evaluate the performance of user funnels, mapping out drop-off points and user journeys across web and mobile platforms.
- Data Extraction & Analysis: Extract and analyze transactional, user behavioral, and commercial data from BigQuery and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Conviva) to identify clear opportunities to achieve product and business objectives.
- Quantitative Research: Conduct independent quantitative research using behavioral analysis, metric tracking, and quantitative experiments to discover user behaviors and make high-impact recommendations.
- Multi-Method Data Collection: Collect and analyze user behavior using tracking and online experiments, while supporting qualitative efforts like surveys, usability testing, and benchmark studies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Designers, Product Managers, Software Engineers, UX Researchers, and the core Data team to prioritize analytics opportunities and align tracking needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Insight Reporting & Presentation: Author clean, high-quality reports and presentations that translate complex quantitative data into simple, user-centric words without losing the essence. Independently present these actionable insights to your immediate team and wider organizational stakeholders.
What Success Looks Like
- Funnel Optimization: Your insights directly help identify and reduce drop-off in the travel funnel, contributing to measurable improvements in booking completion rates.
- Data Clarity: Complex data projects and behavioral metrics are delivered with high clarity, translating technical numbers into actionable product steps.
- Seamless Tracking: Tracking needs are aligned across engineering and product teams early, ensuring clean data collection from the start.
- Collaborative Impact: You become a trusted analytics partner for designers and product managers, helping the squad move the needle on key business outcomes.
What You Bring
- 1–3 years of experience in product analytics, software engineering, data analysis, or a closely related role (experience with E-commerce or Travel transactional flows is a significant plus).
- Technical Toolkit: Hands-on experience extracting data using BigQuery/SQL and utilizing product analytics tools like Google Analytics or Conviva.
- Methodological Knowledge: Understanding of user flow mapping, A/B testing, quantitative research methods, and funnel performance measurement.
- Exceptional Communication: The ability to translate complex quantitative data into simple, user-centric narratives and articulate the why; behind your data recommendations to stakeholders.
- An Analytical Mindset: A proactive, curious approach to problem-solving—someone who loves diving into data details as much as understanding the big picture & business strategy.
