This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Strategic Business Analyst - Cloud Expertise based in United States.
This is a strategic and delivery-focused role supporting large-scale modernization, cloud migration, and business transformation initiatives.You will translate executive priorities and complex business challenges into actionable strategies, roadmaps, and functional requirements.The role combines enterprise planning, business analysis, capability modeling, and hands-on requirements management across the modernization lifecycle.You will work closely with senior stakeholders, architects, product leaders, and delivery teams to shape solutions that align technology with organizational priorities.The position offers significant influence over early-stage initiatives, helping define scope, success criteria, business cases, and transformation opportunities.You will also support functional delivery through requirements analysis, modeling, testing, documentation, and process improvement.This fully remote opportunity is well suited to an experienced analyst who can operate comfortably between strategic advisory work and detailed technology delivery.

Accountabilities:
- Partner with executive stakeholders to define business problems, strategic objectives, modernization priorities, and high-level solution approaches.
- Develop business cases, recommendations, and strategic analyses covering areas such as process automation, operational improvement, financial considerations, and organizational capabilities.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Product Strategy, and Portfolio Governance teams to develop and maintain strategic roadmaps aligned with business and technology objectives.
- Evaluate enterprise processes through capability mapping, value stream analysis, process decomposition, and other advanced business analysis techniques.
- Facilitate strategic workshops, prioritization sessions, decision forums, and stakeholder discussions with senior leadership.
- Shape early-stage modernization initiatives by defining scope, objectives, priorities, success criteria, and transition plans for delivery teams.
- Provide expert guidance to stakeholders, translating complex business and technology concepts into clear recommendations, briefings, reports, and actionable plans.
- Analyze user needs and translate them into detailed functional requirements, business rules, process models, and system capabilities.
- Perform advanced functional modeling, requirements analysis, functional allocation, and assessment of task interdependencies for complex IT systems.
- Support functional testing and validation activities to ensure solutions meet business and user requirements.
- Consult with stakeholders to determine appropriate solution designs and identify opportunities for functional improvements.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including requirements, procedures, presentations, training materials, and other delivery artifacts.
- Research and recommend the resources, capabilities, and approaches required to successfully execute assigned initiatives.
- Serve as a subject-matter advisor to clients and provide guidance to less-experienced analysts when appropriate.
- Contribute to Agile modernization initiatives, including the use of tools and processes such as Jira.
- Deliver recommendations and strategic insights to senior client stakeholders while identifying areas requiring additional analysis or investigation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field; an MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
- At least 10 years of professional experience, including 8 or more years specializing in IT systems functional analysis, preferably within cloud modernization or large-scale transformation programs.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic analysis, enterprise planning, business consulting, or similar advisory environments.
- Strong understanding of complex, integrated IT systems and large-scale modernization programs.
- Proven ability to conduct market research, financial analysis, modeling, capability assessments, and other forms of strategic and quantitative analysis.
- Expertise in defining, documenting, validating, and managing complex business requirements and business rules.
- Knowledge of enterprise business architecture, capability modeling, value streams, and portfolio management concepts.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies and using tools such as Jira.
- Strong ability to communicate sophisticated strategy, functional requirements, and technical concepts to both senior executives and delivery teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, structure complex problems, and convert strategic objectives into actionable plans.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance strategic considerations and detailed delivery requirements.
- Preferred: Experience with mainframe business process re-engineering and modernization.
- Preferred: Experience with zCloud and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Preferred: Familiarity with BPA tools and BPMN, CMN, or DMN modeling.
- Preferred: Experience using Generative AI to document requirements and business rules.
- Preferred: Knowledge of database technologies such as DATACOM, DB2, Azure SQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Preferred: Experience supporting Agile modernization initiatives, portfolio governance, or enterprise strategy.

- Salary: Likely salary range of $161,500–$218,500, with actual compensation determined by experience, geographic location, and potentially contractual requirements.
