DescriptionNeed for a data engineer/analyst to assist with a significant policy administration system and accounting system conversion. The role requires strong SQL skills for data cleanup, normalization, and migration to a new relational system, with a preference for an on-site candidate with 8-10+ years of experience. The project is expected to last 12-24 months, with a two-stage interview process and a potential start date in four to six weeks.Key points1. Client: A life insurance company in Beechwood with a small team, managing significant assets, and currently using a 26-year-old policy administration system that needs replacement.2. Role Purpose: They are seeking a Data Analyst/Engineer to clean up their "hot mess" legacy database, normalize data, identify errors and duplicates, and prepare for conversion to a new policy administration system (PAS).3. Key Responsibilities: The person will be crucial for data conversion between the new PAS vendor and data, including source-to-target mapping, and will identify data cleanup tasks for staff.4. Required Skills: The ideal candidate needs to be a SQL expert (querying, stored procedures, some development), possess strong data analysis skills, and have excellent communication. Life insurance experience is a "nice to have.".5. Technical Environment: The current system is Microsoft SQL, but very old, with the original application written in VB and some VB.NET. They also have a lot of data in Microsoft Access that needs to be dismantled and converted.6. Experience Level: They require a sr level individual with 8-10+ years of experience, someone who can work independently without extensive hand-holding.7. Work Arrangement: The position is primarily five days a week on-site in Beechwood (8 AM - 4:30 PM, with Friday flexibility), with some occasional remote work possible once trust is established.8. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
