Environmental Insurance - Great American Insurance Group

This role supports underwriting operations and IT initiatives by improving workflows through automation, AI-enabled tools, and system enhancements. The analyst will work across underwriting, IT, and external vendors to streamline data intake, improve data quality, and support deployment of new solutions.

Key Responsibilities

AI & Workflow Automation

  • Assist in development and deployment of AI-driven tools to extract, organize, and summarize submission data
  • Identify manual workflows and design automation solutions (Power Automate, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Support straight-through processing (STP) initiatives and document intelligence solutions

IT Projects & Deployment Support

  • Coordinate testing and rollout of new IT systems and enhancements
  • Perform QA/QC on implementations, ensuring alignment with business requirements
  • Track issues, document defects, and validate fixes with IT teams

Operations & Underwriting Support

  • Assist with data validation, policy setup, and system entries
  • Review submissions for completeness and resolve data gaps
  • Assist with Underwriting Referrals Duties
  • Support tracking tools (Excel-based models, logs, dashboards)

Vendor & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as liaison between underwriting, IT, and external vendors
  • Monitor vendor deliverables and timelines
  • Support intake and organization of external reports and data

Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Build and maintain operational reports and dashboards
  • Document standard processes and identify efficiencies
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across underwriting workflows

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related)
  • 0–3 years of experience in operations, IT, or analytics
  • Strong Excel skills; familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools
  • Interest in AI, automation, and process improvement
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Preferred Skills

  • Power Automate / Power Apps exposure
  • Basic data or scripting skills (SQL, Python, etc.)
  • Familiarity with insurance or underwriting processes

Other Entry-Level Tasks (Day-to-Day)

  • Maintain tracking logs for submissions, projects, and QA items
  • Organize shared folders and documentation repositories
  • Assist in preparing presentations and internal communications
  • Perform ad hoc data cleanup and reconciliation tasks
  • Support audit/compliance documentation efforts
