Role Overview
As a Senior Sales Engineer you will support the EMEA Sales team by translating customer requirements into optimized energy storage solutions and compelling technical proposals. Acting as a trusted technical advisor, you will guide customers throughout the sales process, support contract negotiations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful energy storage projects. This role combines strong technical expertise, customer engagement, and commercial awareness to help drive Fluence's growth across the region
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the EMEA Sales teams to transform customer requirements into compelling, optimized technical energy storage solution proposals.
- Build deep expertise in energy storage technologies and serve as a trusted technical advisor, providing product configuration guidance and support to Sales teams.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of sales tools and support materials that drive business success.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of installation contractor proposals, supporting seamless system integration and turnkey solution delivery.
- Collaborate with Sales teams to navigate and negotiate technical aspects of customer contracts.
- Capture and translate customer technical and application requirements into valuable insights that help shape future product roadmaps.
- Support the development of system designs that meet applicable local codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively identify technical deviations and work collaboratively across teams and supporting functions to resolve them efficiently.
- Travel throughout EMEA, engaging directly with customers, partners, and stakeholders across the region.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience within the power industry.
- Strong ability to analyze and solve complex technical challenges while clearly communicating solutions and outcomes.
- Previous experience with offer management and/or technical contract review.
- Experience working with CRM platforms and engineering tools such as Salesforce and CAD.
- Proven experience in energy storage, solar, power generation, or industrial balance of plant environments (including EPC projects).
- Understanding of local standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple parallel activities.
- Demonstrated ownership mentality with a strong drive to close opportunities and contribute to Fluence's business objectives.
- Excellent coordination, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and informally structured environment.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
