The Insurance Finance Data Analyst, prepares, analyzes, and communicates financial working papers, statistical data, and management information related to insurance and reinsurance operations and contracted insurance programs in support of the Insurance Data Unit (IDU). This role supports financial, accounting, data management, and reporting activities to ensure accurate and timely insurance program analysis and compliance.

This position will be with National Indemnity Company in Omaha, NE and is eligible for Hybrid work after a period of in‑office training. This position is NOT eligible for employer visa sponsorship.

What Will You Do?

  • Analyze, reconcile, and interpret financial and insurance data from multiple sources
  • Prepare working papers, schedules, and financial or statutory reports for assigned programs
  • Process funding and loss payment requests and maintain cash controls, reconciliations, and intercompany settlements
  • Coordinate daily, monthly, and year‑end financial and program information between operating locations and the Omaha office
  • Support maintenance and accuracy of Financial Database systems in coordination with IT and Finance
  • Assist with calculating supplemental reserves and IBNR allocations according to guidelines
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheet and database tools to support reporting and processing needs
  • Compile data and prepare reports for management, regulators, auditors, and other internal partners
  • Stay current on insurance accounting and financial reporting practices
  • Respond to internal and external audit inquiries related to financial data and controls

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or a related field
  • One or more years of work experience
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Personal computer proficiency and experience with basic applications such as Excel and Word

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Life or property casualty insurance accounting experience
  • Knowledge of financial reporting
  • Familiarity with company and department practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of statutory accounting principles
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access
