Network Observability Solution Engineer (Komodo Eye SME) About the OpportunityWe are seeking a highly experienced Network Observability Solution Engineer (Komodo Eye SME) to help lead a large-scale Network Operations Center (NOC) modernization initiative. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for the enterprise observability platform, driving strategic monitoring, event correlation, automation, and operational visibility across a complex, mission-critical infrastructure environment.This position is ideal for candidates who have deep expertise in enterprise monitoring, network operations, observability platforms, and large-scale NOC transformation efforts. You will play a key role in helping the organization evolve from a reactive support model to a proactive, data-driven operational framework.Location
- 100% Remote
- Must work East Coast business hours (typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET)
- Occasional travel may be required for workshops, planning sessions, deployments, architecture reviews, leadership meetings, and operational transitions

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic implementation, optimization, and operational management of the Komodo Eye (Grid Observer) platform.
- Design and maintain enterprise-wide monitoring and observability solutions supporting thousands of infrastructure assets.
- Develop dashboards, health reports, executive summaries, and operational analytics.
- Generate daily, weekly, and executive-level reports on network health, performance trends, and operational anomalies.
- Build and enhance monitoring, alerting, event correlation, and automation capabilities.
- Integrate observability platforms with enterprise monitoring, analytics, and service management tools.
- Support NOC modernization initiatives and help drive AIOps adoption.
- Collaborate with network engineering, infrastructure, operations, and leadership teams to improve visibility and service reliability.
- Analyze network performance trends and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Create operational standards, monitoring best practices, and observability roadmaps.
- Participate in architecture reviews, operational transitions, and strategic planning activities.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in enterprise monitoring, observability, network operations, or infrastructure engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Komodo Eye (formerly Grid Observer) or similar enterprise observability platforms.
- Strong understanding of large-scale network environments and operational monitoring.
- Experience generating executive-level reporting and operational health metrics.
- Deep knowledge of: • Network monitoring

- Strong networking experience including: • QoS (Quality of Service)
- Routing and Switching

Required Monitoring & Observability ToolsCandidates should have hands-on experience with one or more of the following enterprise monitoring and observability platforms:
- SolarWinds – Network performance monitoring and infrastructure visibility
- Splunk – Log management, analytics, event monitoring, and observability
- Dynatrace – Full-stack observability, application performance monitoring, and AIOps
- Datadog – Cloud, infrastructure, application, and log monitoring
Preferred QualificationsExperience with one or more of the following:
- Grafana
- Elastic
- Prometheus
- OpenTelemetry
- ServiceNow Event Management
- BigPanda
- Cribl
Additional experience with:
- AIOps initiatives
- Enterprise event correlation
- Automation and orchestration

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Henrico, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75.00 - $90.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
