Full description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Network Performance & Automation Engineer based in India.

As a Network Performance & Automation Engineer, you will drive the monitoring, analysis, automation, and continuous improvement of complex enterprise network environments. You’ll work across WAN, SD-WAN, campus, data center, cloud, and security infrastructure to improve performance, reliability, and operational efficiency. The role combines deep network troubleshooting with automation, telemetry, and observability to identify issues before they impact services. You’ll develop intelligent workflows and reusable tools that streamline health checks, incident triage, reporting, and remediation. You’ll also collaborate with network, security, cloud, application, and service desk teams to resolve end-to-end performance challenges. This is an opportunity to bring automation and data-driven engineering practices into a modern, multi-vendor infrastructure environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Analyze network performance across latency, jitter, packet loss, throughput, bandwidth utilization, application response times, and device health.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks across WAN, SD-WAN overlays, firewalls, load balancers, wireless, LAN, data center, and cloud connectivity.
  • Establish performance baselines, produce trend analyses and capacity forecasts, and recommend service improvements.
  • Develop automation scripts and workflows for network health checks, configuration validation, incident triage, reporting, and remediation support.
  • Integrate monitoring, observability, ITSM, CMDB, SD-WAN, firewall, and cloud platforms using APIs and automation workflows.
  • Build reusable dashboards, reports, runbooks, and self-service automation capabilities that improve operational efficiency.
  • Work with SNMP, NetFlow/IPFIX, syslog, streaming telemetry, synthetic testing, logs, events, and packet-capture data to improve network visibility.
  • Configure and optimize monitoring thresholds, alerts, dashboards, and correlation rules to reduce alert noise and improve incident detection.
  • Perform root cause analysis using telemetry, flow analysis, path visibility, device metrics, and application dependency insights.
  • Drive automation-led reductions in manual effort, faster incident resolution, and improved service availability.
  • Collaborate with network, security, cloud, application, and service desk teams to improve end-to-end service performance.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures, troubleshooting playbooks, and documented performance improvement actions.
  • Support the adoption of AIOps, event correlation, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and closed-loop automation where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • 6–12+ years of experience in network engineering, network performance, automation, observability, or related infrastructure roles.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking, including routing, switching, SD-WAN, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud connectivity.
  • Hands-on scripting and automation experience using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, JSON, YAML, and related automation frameworks.
  • Experience with network monitoring and observability platforms such as SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, Cisco DNA Center, vManage, Splunk, Grafana, ELK, AppDynamics, or comparable tools.
  • Strong capabilities in packet analysis, flow analysis, network performance troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience integrating infrastructure platforms and operational tools through APIs and automated workflows.
  • Knowledge of ITSM workflows, ServiceNow integration, CMDB data models, and incident/problem management is an advantage.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, SASE/SSE, Zscaler, Prisma Access, Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, or other multi-vendor environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AIOps, event correlation, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, or closed-loop automation is a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying performance issues and operational improvements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred certifications include CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, Python, Ansible, DevNet Associate/Professional, monitoring or observability certifications, cloud certifications, or ITIL.

Benefits:

  • Fully remote working environment.
  • Full-time employment with a mid-senior-level scope.
  • Opportunity to work across complex enterprise networking, cloud, security, and SD-WAN environments.
  • Hands-on exposure to automation, observability, telemetry, AIOps, and modern network engineering practices.
  • Opportunity to build reusable automation capabilities and directly improve operational efficiency.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with network, security, cloud, application, and service management teams.
  • Opportunities for continued technical development and professional certification.
  • High-impact role focused on improving network reliability, performance, visibility, and service availability.
