For our client in Bern, we are looking for an experienced, motivated and open-minded Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer (AWS/Azure).

Our client is a leading organization with a modern cloud-native technology landscape. To strengthen their platform engineering team, they are looking for an experienced Kubernetes professional who is passionate about building, operating, and evolving enterprise-scale container platforms. In this role, you will play a key part in enabling development teams to efficiently deploy and run applications while driving automation, security, and operational excellence.

Your Tasks:

  • Engineer, operate, and continuously improve shared Kubernetes platforms based on Amazon EKS and Microsoft AKS
  • Enable application teams to successfully deploy, operate, and scale their workloads on the platform
  • Maintain and enhance a portfolio of platform add-ons and supporting services
  • Gather, evaluate, and implement customer and stakeholder feature requests
  • Drive automation initiatives following a GitOps-first approach
  • Optimize platform performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Contribute to platform security hardening and security best practices
  • Support audits, compliance requirements, and governance initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to advance a modern cloud-native platform ecosystem

Your Profile:

  • Proven hands-on experience with Kubernetes in large-scale enterprise environments
  • Strong experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
  • Solid knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation technologies such as YAML and ideally Golang
  • Strong understanding of GitOps principles and experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions
  • Experience with Helm and/or Kustomize
  • Familiarity with cloud-native tools such as Argo CD, Kyverno, Karpenter, Cilium, Grafana, and related ecosystem technologies
  • Structured, independent, and delivery-oriented way of working
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
  • Fluency in English and/or German
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
