We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through project completion. This position is responsible for managing schedules, budgets, procurement, field operations, client relationships, and overall project performance while ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.
The ideal candidate has a strong background working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor, possesses in-depth knowledge of commercial electrical systems, and has a proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities• Lead commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from project award through closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, labor forecasts, procurement plans, and financial projections
- Coordinate project execution with Superintendents, Foremen, field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Act as the primary liaison between clients, general contractors, engineers, architects, inspectors, and other project stakeholders
- Review and manage electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and related project documentation
- Monitor project costs, labor productivity, billing, forecasting, and profitability
- Resolve scheduling conflicts, material shortages, manpower challenges, and other project issues
- Lead project meetings and communicate schedule updates, financial performance, risks, and progress to internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate material procurement, equipment deliveries, subcontractor activities, and project logistics
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage change orders while ensuring all additional work is properly documented and approved
- Oversee inspections, testing, commissioning, punch-list completion, and final turnover to the client
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, contract requirements, company safety policies, and quality standards
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, and project partners
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction
- Previous experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor is required
- Valid Connecticut E-1 or E-2 Electrical License required
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, installation practices, construction sequencing, and project delivery
- Experience managing projects from preconstruction through final closeout
- Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, procurement, scheduling, labor management, and change order administration
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or comparable construction management software
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, schedule, and profitability
- Candidates available to start within the next 30 days are highly preferred
- $100,000–$110,000 annual salary, depending on experience
