We are currently seeking a MS Fabric - Principal Data Engineer to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Experience

  • Overall Experience: 10+ years in Data Management, Data Governance, Data Architecture, or Enterprise Information Management
  • Relevant Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience with one or more leading Data Governance platforms such as Collibra, Microsoft Purview, Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC), Alation, or similar enterprise data governance solutions.
  • Location: Flexible / Hybrid (based on business needs)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Architect to join our Data Practice – Data Governance Center of Excellence (COE). This is a strategic consulting and technical leadership role responsible for building and growing our enterprise Data Governance capability while supporting pre-sales, solution architecture, project delivery, innovation, and competency development.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in implementing enterprise Data Governance platforms and frameworks, along with strong consulting, stakeholder management, and solution architecture skills.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & Solutioning

  • Partner with sales teams and customers to understand business and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead discovery workshops and governance maturity assessments.
  • Design enterprise Data Governance solutions aligned with business and technology objectives.
  • Prepare architecture documents, implementation roadmaps, proposals, and effort estimations.
  • Support RFP/RFI responses and customer presentations.
  • Define governance operating models, implementation strategies, and adoption roadmaps.
  • Work closely with enterprise architects, data leaders, and business stakeholders during solution design.

Proof of Concepts (POCs) & Innovation

  • Design and develop Data Governance proof-of-concepts for prospective customers.
  • Demonstrate capabilities across metadata management, business glossary, data catalog, lineage, data quality, and policy management.
  • Evaluate emerging governance technologies and recommend best-fit solutions.
  • Create reference implementations showcasing governance capabilities and business value.

Delivery Support

  • Provide architecture oversight across Data Governance implementation projects.
  • Review solution designs and ensure adherence to enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Guide implementation teams on platform configuration, metadata integration, lineage, cataloging, workflow automation, and security.
  • Support complex technical challenges, governance operating model implementation, and platform optimization.
  • Ensure successful integration with enterprise data platforms and business applications.

Competency & COE Development

  • Build and strengthen the organization's Data Governance competency.
  • Define implementation standards, governance frameworks, reusable methodologies, and best practices.
  • Mentor architects, consultants, and engineers.
  • Conduct internal training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Develop learning paths and certification plans for Data Governance technologies.
  • Contribute to practice growth through thought leadership, whitepapers, and technical blogs.

Accelerators & Framework Development

  • Build reusable accelerators, templates, governance workflows, and implementation frameworks.
  • Develop governance operating model templates, business glossary structures, metadata standards, and policy templates.
