Data Scientist
At Farm Bureau Financial Services, we're looking for a Data Scientist who is passionate about using data to solve business problems, uncover opportunities, and drive decision-making across the organization. This role combines advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and business partnership to help leaders make smarter, data-driven decisions. The position supports marketing, sales & distribution, agency services and client member services through advanced analytics, modeling, business insights, and decision support.
What You'll Do
- Design and conduct advanced analyses, statistical models, and research studies that support business objectives.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities related to customer and agent segmentation, retention, marketing effectiveness, sales, distribution, and business performance.
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines that support analytics, modeling, and business decision-making.
- Partner with business leaders to transform questions and opportunities into actionable analytical solutions.
- Proactively identify ways analytics can improve business outcomes and decision-making.
- Present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate across teams to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions.
- Mentor analysts and contribute to the growth of analytical capabilities across the organization.
- Explore new analytical techniques, tools, and approaches that create business value.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field plus four years of relevant experience. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, data mining, or advanced analytical techniques.
- Strong programming and data manipulation skills using SQL and Python
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms preferred
- Experience working with large and complex datasets.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective relationships with business partners.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, with reliable and predictable attendance.
