Full description
A multinational defence organisation runs a family of operational softwareapplications and is looking for a full stack engineer who is genuinely comfortable at both ends ofthe stack. You will join a small Scrum team, take features from idea to production, and stay withthem once they are running.
What you would be doing
- Developing, operating and maintaining operational web applications, front end and back end,with the same care on both sides.
- Writing Angular front ends in TypeScript, with the HTML and CSS work that goes with them.
- Writing Java services on Spring and Spring Boot, and the automated tests that keep themhonest — unit, component, functional and integration.
- Working with SQL and NoSQL stores, and with the messaging and near real-time data feeds theapplications depend on.
- Running the build and delivery chain day to day: Git, Maven, Jenkins, Jira, packaging onLinux.
- Taking part in the team's Scrum rhythm, and helping the product owner turn a rough idea intosomething shippable.
What you would bring
- A degree in computer science or a close engineering subject and at least three years writingsoftware professionally.
- Two years or more with Angular 10 or later, and the same again with Spring 5 or later.
- Solid automated testing habits, and confidence with XML, JSON, Git, Maven and Jenkins.
- Comfort on Linux — RHEL or Oracle Linux — plus the networking basics: TCP, UDP, SSH, aterminal.
- Nice to have: WebSockets with STOMP, near real-time data visualisation, RPM packaging,tactical data links, Scrum experience.
- Professional English and the ability to work inside an international team.
