Position Title: Configuration Analyst, Autonomous Systems

 

Location: Irvine, CA

Work Arrangement: On-site

 

Position Summary

The Product Configuration Specialist (Autonomous Systems) is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, accuracy, and integrity of configuration data across hardware, software, and documentation for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). This role focuses on executing established configuration management (CM) processes, ensuring that released designs, builds, and deployed systems remain aligned with approved baselines. The Product Configuration Specialist (Autonomous Systems) works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations to support controlled change and traceability throughout the product lifecycle.

 

Required Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain configuration records for hardware, software, firmware, and documentation.
  • Process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) in accordance with established CM procedures.
  • Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), part numbers, revisions, and effectivity.
  • Ensure accurate release, version control, and status tracking of drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Update and maintain configuration data in PDM, MRP and other related enterprise systems.
  • Support configuration status accounting and reporting.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing configuration evidence and traceability.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure released configurations are build-ready and production-aligned.
  • Track configuration deviations and assist in documenting approved variances.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience maintaining configuration data in a regulated or production-oriented environment.
  • 1 – 4 years of experience in working knowledge of engineering change processes and document control practices.
  • Familiarity with BOM management and revision control.
  • Experience using PLM/PDM systems and structured data repositories.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and follow defined processes.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience in aerospace, UAS, defense, robotics, or complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with prototype-to-production transitions.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or fielded systems.
  • Exposure to ERP/MRP integrations.
  • Understanding of basic configuration management principles (identification, control, status accounting)..

Education: 

  • Relevant experience working in a structured technical, manufacturing, operations, or regulated environment; formal education in a technical field is a plus but not required.

Export Control / ITAR Requirement:

This position requires access to information and technology subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, employment is contingent upon meeting applicable export control eligibility requirements and compliance obligations.

 

Travel Required: Less Than 10%.

Work Authorization Requirement:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

 

Salary: $90,000 – 108,000 annually

Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
