Position Overview:
The Senior Database Administrator provides technical support and guidance for IMC’s MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB Database environments. This role will primarily focus on the administration of enterprise databases throughout the development, Test and production lifecycles, as well as providing database design leadership to development teams. The senior administrator should take ownership of our database environments and take pride in shaping the future of our database program. This role is part of IMC Companies’ Information technology support services.
This senior role also mentors and guides less experienced DBAs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understanding of database management in an Enterprise environment
- Leads capacity planning, data migration, and performance management for the assigned environments and integrate/execute with infrastructure capacity planning processes
- Ensure database backup/recovery, high availability, and data replication
- Creation of jobs, stored procedures, and other database activities as needed
- Control of security of the database systems and how users interact with the data
- Migration of data based on the needs of the Company
- Documentation of database processes
- Ability to plan and execute Implementations of new data related applications and systems
- Ability to review and implement new database designs based on developer requirements
- Able to complete system performance tuning and diagnostic related tasks
- System health monitoring and proactive correction of issues
- Able to work well with all areas of the IT department

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems (or equivalent experience).
- Requires Four (5+) years’ work experience in Information Technology performing the duties of a database administrator.
- Ability to complete projects on time, including the necessary documentation, is a must.
Other Skills / Abilities:
- Experience with MS SQL 64-bit Enterprise (incl. Clustering), PostgreSQL v16 & 17, MongoDB v8
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or EnterpriseDB database environments
- Experience managing ODBC connections, SQL jobs, stored procedures, and views
- SQL Clustering & HA
- Scripting SQL Monitoring, alerting, and diagnosis
- Other duties as assigned
