Full description

This role is hybrid with 3 days working from the office weekly (Fabryczna,Krakow)

The Basics

Tanium Senior QA Engineers are responsible for testing products built on the Tanium platform. This will involve working with developers and product managers to construct and execute test plans, build automation frameworks, and file detailed bug reports that keep quality high across every release.

Strong technical skills are essential. If you are not comfortable hunting down resource leaks while simulating hundreds of thousands of clients, digging into the guts of windows security configuration or scripting environment configuration for dozens of target OS’s, this may not be the place for you. If these things sound as exciting to you as they do to us, then Tanium could be your new home!

What you’ll do

  • Utilize project management and leadership skills to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects throughout the entire software development cycle
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites across UI, API, and integration layers using Python/pytest, Playwright, and REST API testing tools
  • Champion a shift-left, automation-first approach — embed in engineering squads, write in-sprint automation, and ensure test coverage keeps pace with feature development
  • Build and maintain automated regression pipelines in CI/CD environments — monitoring pipeline health, resolving flaky tests, and ensuring reliable signal to engineering teams
  • Author and execute test plans and test cases covering functional, regression, integration, performance, and basic security testing scenarios
  • Identify, document, and track defects using established defect management procedures — providing clear, reproducible bug reports and validating fixes with engineering
  • Manage resources, project plans, estimates, and timelines
  • Share knowledge and best practices within the Krakow QA team, contributing to a culture of continuous quality improvement

We’re looking for someone with

  • Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT or other relevant degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience
  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance/Testing experience with a strong focus on test automation in a B2B software or SaaS environment
  • Proficiency in Python/pytest for automation; experience with Playwright or Selenium for UI testing; familiarity with TypeScript or JavaScript is a plus
  • Solid experience with REST API testing and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI)
  • Decent grasp of OOP / SOLID / DRY concepts
  • Knowledge of testing best practices including the test automation pyramid, Page Object Model, Agile/Scrum development, and defect management tools (Jira, TestRail)
  • Familiarity with non-functional testing (load, stress, performance) and basic security testing concepts (OWASP); ISTQB CTFL certification preferred
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills — able to write clear bug reports and collaborate effectively with global engineering teams
  • Nice to have experience
  • Solid understanding of operating systems (Linux & Windows preferred); how they are installed and configured
  • Practical experience with virtualization and/or containerization (platform-agnostic); vCenter/VMware or Proxmox knowledge is a bonus
  • Proficiency with at least one scripting language - Shell, Bash, PowerShell, etc., and familiar with using it to streamlining day to day tasks
  • Experience in using packet capture tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, etc) is a plus
  • Familiarity with terms like authentication, file signature, and certificates
