Full description

The Technical Support Engineer serves as a primary technical resource for customers and field personnel during equipment installation, startup, troubleshooting, and ongoing customer support activities. This role combines hands-on technical problem-solving with project coordination and customer relationship management to ensure successful equipment performance throughout its lifecycle.

The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and an understanding of CNC machining and manufacturing systems. This individual will support installation and startup activities while providing technical assistance to customers both remotely and if needed on-site. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills are essential.

This position is based at the GROB Systems manufacturing facility and is primarily focused on supporting customers and projects from that location. Travel is not a regular part of the role and is expected to occur only infrequently.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical troubleshooting and problem-resolution support to customers and field technicians.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact during customer support engagements.
  • Assist customers in equipment operation, maintenance, and best practices.
  • Respond promptly to service requests and emergency customer support situations.
  • Document service activities, technical findings, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships while upholding GROB's commitment to quality and service excellence.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree preferred in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or relevant experience in machine tool industry
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with CNC machines, automated assembly systems, or industrial manufacturing equipment.
